Was looking for a unique restaurant to host friends visiting from Whistler who are foodies. Lupo, based in a heritage home, is exactly that: unique. Initially I was a bit worried that it might be a little awkward dining in a house and that the tables might be a little too close for comfort. I was wrong. The decor is simple, stylish and in keeping with both the Yaletown swank and the house's roots. The food was flavourful and well presented. Make sure you order the house made bread, it is delicious! The server was lovely - certainly not pretentious like other Yaletown establishments. Gave 4 stars due to price of mains. $47 for a rack of lamb. I'm sure it is in keeping with the area and the house is expensive to upkeep. Still, a little much for me for one dish. Overall a fantastic experience.
Amazing food and selection, lots of specials. There were so much to choose from. And great service. We were actually taken care of very nicely. The food came out faster than expected too!
Love the small house atmosphere.
Not loud and noise.
A great date spot!
Will come again!!!
Consistently one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. I’ve eaten here quite a few times so I’ve tried a good chunk of the menu. Every dish I’ve tried is great. They also do seasonal truffle dishes so make sure you try that whenever it’s available. Don’t just stop at their pasta because their entrees are all pretty good.
I had dinner there for the first time tonight and I usually never go out of my way to come on here and rate places BUT this place gave me the BEST service I have ever had and the food was so amazing! Our waitress was so sweet and kind and we had a 3 course meal in under an hour.. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who loves a good quiet date night spot and great food!!!
Always wanted to try this cozy looking place on Hamilton street finally had my chance. I chose to visit Lupo for my anniversary dinner, and was quite pleased with not only the ambience, but the food as well. The specials for that day were the ravioli with short rib, and the beef tenderloin; both of which were quite splendid. My wife ordered the veal scallapini, and was impressed as well. This is a place I would visit again.
Best Italian I've had outside of Italy; simple but well prepared dishes ranging from very traditional to unique selections. Usually quite busy & in no rush, service is gracious though. Quality local ingredients & notable wine collection.
If you like Italian food then you can't miss an opportunity to fine here. No trip to Vancouver is complete for me without a visit to Lupo. Words can not describe the delectable nature of the deliciousness they produce time and time again. Just go ahead and make your reservation.
Went here for our Anniversary dinner. The place is packed even for a Tuesday. My wife had Buratta Salad and Octopus Mosaic for me to start and it was amazing! The Focaccia bread has an acquired taste. For our main we have Seafood Risotto and Veal. The Veal was succulent and the Risotto was flavorful. Service could have been better. Our server was not that welcoming and a bit in a hurry and we need to remind him of my wife's wine order halfway of our meal. Overall, Very Satisfied. Lupo made our anniversary extra special.
Have been wanting to go here for a while a finally made it and was not disappointed. Excellent service and great food. Told the waiter what we didn't like and asked him to pick a few dishes to share. He did a great job and we ventured into some areas different than the old Italian stand by's which we would have selected. It's not cheap, but in this case you get what you pay for and I thought it was good value. Nice atmosphere, great food and service.
I should also note that I was surprised by another reviewers comment regarding a $150+ bottle of wine. I told the waiter what I liked and told him I was leaning to a $56 bottle. He suggested a $52 bottle which was excellent and there was much variety in that range. Overall a great experience and recommended.
From the moment you walk in, the entire staff is there to make your experience perfect. The decor is cozy and clean. The entire dinner selection was perfection. Enjoyed every taste.

Amazing food in a quaint old home turned restaurant. Great for a special night out. Make sure to try the bufala mozzarella appetizer.
Very tasty and reasonably priced food. Cool location in a heritage home.
Fantastic food, excellent food, cozy and professional restaurant !
Great location, awesome converted heritage home!
Both the primi and secondi dishes are good but I'd suggest getting a few different dishes with side plates so that everyone can try a few things. The taglierini with truffles was out of this world amazing as well as the lamb shank
The food came quite quickly and the appetizers are really small so I don't think they are necessary (although delicious like everything here)
Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere !
Great food, although you can find better ambiance elsewhere. The service during the visit was great - however, I tried to make a large group reservation by calling in the following week. The man on the other end was dismissive and seemed like he wanted to get back to whatever he was doing - so I opted for another establishment. Good service should be through every touchpoint, not just when a customer walks in for dinner. Other than that, a very fine establishment.
