Top shelf products. Top shelf instructors. Can't go wrong with this place!
They are very over priced. Had a horrible experience personally, the sales really tried to sign you up and agreed on a three month term initially as I'm only living in Toronto temporarily project. But when I actually signed up, their sales and customer service is no longer responding or responsive. I have to move back to Alberta so that I called to cancel, they asked for an additional month of membership payment to be able to cancel my membership. They really tried hard to rip off every single penny they can. Facility is just okay but their class schedule is very limited and restricted, you can only use this gym if you just want to use their machines but definitely not for high quality classes. A bad experience for me.
I'm a regular at Equinox. Best place to work out in Yorkville - Great classes, new equipment and great instructors. Love this gym.
This place was bought by Equinox and fully renovated a few years ago so any older reviews may not take into consideration the new space, equipment, management or staff. One of the most beautiful gyms in Toronto. Not a meat market, 2 hours or more(depending on day of week and time of day) free parking, reasonably-priced daycare (but only 'til 2PM, alas), wide variety of classes. Two thumbs up.
Poorly designed space & not really suitable for people who actually workout. Poorly staffed, always issues with the parking, but at least the towels are nice. For the price I would expect staff to be professional and the space suitable for working out.
Great equipment. Clean. Great amenities in the change room. Classes looked well attended but I have not tried one. Free parking for members is unique!
The cancellation problem has been bugging me for months and I don't have other channel to complain about this. Their locations work independently, and there's no headquarter overseeing the complains. Also there's no service email either. Leaving me only option to post this review here, as well as filing a complain to BBB.
The membership is for my wife, and we relocated to Vancouver in Aug 2016. My wife's been talking to their staff about relocation and potentially transferring the membership but at that time their new gym in Van hasn't opened yet. Took them long enough to finding out that, so that we missed the one month notice period. So we had to be charged for one month cancellation penalty as a result of our good will to keep the business with them at a different location.
What's worse is, we went to cancel it, talked to the front desk, submitted the prove of relocation document to front desk. The front desk said it's all good then. Of course we trust the staff their, since they been very nice. Naive me!
I was doing my annual credit card review and found equinox charges every month even after we relocated. I called them many times and never got a chance to speak to an advisor again. It's always they are busy and would call me back. Finally I spoke to their manager Brianna today, and she told me the cancellation has to be done with her, and it requires signing some papers to cancel the membership.
It's still in the process communicating with them now. Don't know if I would get all the refunds, or any refund at all. It's been a very frustrated experience so far.
Came here once and was NOT impressed with the front desk service. I could've given them a very low rating, but the massage therapist, Moe, was absolutely phenomenal. I probably won't go back there because of the bad service.
The space is nice, the staff however don't follow policy and really do not care if you are being taken care of, just if their coffers are being filled with your inflated monthly rates. I referred a friend of mine to join and was promised a gift card, after playing phone tag for 2 months i was told that i was not able to be issued one and basically that i was S.O.L.
Thanks equinox for pulling the wool over our eyes and providing customer service akin to the McDonalds in regent park.
