Stayed here and had room key grief. I find that very annoying. Other than that the rooms were fine.
Very clean and spacious rooms
Comfortable beds
Coffee/tea brewer, small fridge, WiFi and a TV with Telus Optic available in your room as well.
The restaurant has excellent breakfast as well but the water tasted a little odd. Great French Toast and Waffles though!
The building is rather old and looks like staff is overloaded with work, but the location is awesome, right on the waterfront.
The staff were super friendly (They even helped my Dad with some house hunting!) and the rooms have all your basic necessities, nothing fancy but you'll be comfortable indefinitely.
Great location, right on the water. Food in attached restaurant is very good and they always have specials.. close to main area of town, easy walk gets you to shopping and other good dining. Weather is always a factor but this year July First week..75F every day and no rain forecastpriceless..
Stayed here May 18 19 and 20. Owners and staff obviously take a lot of pride in the Driftwood Inn, as it is very well maintained. Entire staff was very friendly. We stayed for the past four years in what was supposed to be a first class resort and Driftwood Inn far surpassed the service of the other resort! Pebbles restaurant was outstanding! The food was beautifully presented and so flavorful! Highly recommend anyone traveling to the Sunshine Coast to stay at Driftwood and eat at Pebbles!
The owner seemed unwilling to want to fix some of the issues we had on our 2 night stay. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
An ok place to stay in a pinch, but, given the number of excellent b&b options on the Sunshine Coast that are similarly priced, I don't know that it was worth it.
Despite its beautiful location, the atmosphere was nothing inspiring or memorable - run of the mill old-school motel. Very few amenities on the property or in the rooms (expected from a typical budget lodging) and there were some cleanliness and upkeep issues with the room that really took away from my stay. Stains on the sheets, grunge in the bathroom, and worn out fixtures were the main things that got me. Thin walls may also be a problem for light sleepers (or those needing privacy) during busy times - I was able to clearly hear every word of my neighbours conversations all night long.
Not saying that the Driftwood is dodgy or a bad place to stay, just think that one can find better value, amenities, and attention to detail at other places in the area if you shop around a bit.
Food is good. It was quite busy to the service was slow
Front desk personnel was nice and helpful. Hotel room was comfortable. Location was a very short walking distant to water so it was convenient. Since it was so close, our dogs enjoyed nice long walk.
We had an early dinner at the Pebbles restaurant at Driftwood inn. The waiters were all very friendly and the food was very tasty. The restaurant has a great view of the ocean and family friendly atmosphere.
