The walls are paper thin and you can hear every screaming kid and couple walking the halls at 5 in the morning. Room was average and service was average but the noise ruined our stay.

The two stars do not reflect the facility but one of the rude check in staff. Our reservation could not be found until I retrieved the confirmation from the car. We were then shocked at the announcement of a $50 security deposit and the attitude that went with it. He claimed all hotels do it in Canada. We had been in several previous to this and none had required a deposit. No elevator. Breakfast OK. Balcony that was shared with 4 other rooms so we could not open our outside door for fresh air during the night. Difficult to find. I will never return.

Clean, comfortable and convenient. Staff was very hospitable - called about 10-15 minutes after settling in our room to ensure everything in the room was ok and to see whether we needed anything else. Don't get too excited about the 'free continental breakfast' - food selection and quality was substandard (could definitely use some improving).

Really liked our stay here. We stayed here 1 night on our way out of Banff. Good price and we loved that our dog friendly room had a patio right out to some grass. So convenient since I have stayed in hotels where I had to walk quite a ways to find some grass for my dog. Wish it had a king bed but the queen we got was very comfortable.

Had breakfast at Chez Francois, but as much as the food was excellent, the service didn't see us have food on our table for nearly 90 minutes. It was a tough trade off, but they did keep my coffee topped up while I waited.

View was great but the hotel is located right beside train tracks and had trains coming and going every 10 minutes while trying to sleep. Service and room were in perfect except you for the fact that channels were missing but listed on our guide for viewing. Buffet is not free but worth the $6-7.

Pro's: affordable for Canmore, decent mattresses, continental breakfast included, pets welcome but only in certain rooms. Con's: Wood framed hotel = extremely loud foot traffic above you. Pillows are 6-8 inches high, couch smelled awful in the room. If you value your sleep after a long day, find another hote preferably one concrete built. The people above us were doing jumping jacks it seemed until 11pm..and then started up again at 130am. If you don't already bring your own pillow, because you won't be sleeping on the ones provided. Basically a short body pillow, they are way too tall. I ended up sleeping on my jacket folded up. It's not a bad hotel if you don't care to sleep. I won't stay here again because of the noise. You can hear almost everything.

Overall we had a great stay. The room was decent, with a fireplace and jetted tub. It had 2 queens, which were very comfortable. The view was excellent as well. The fireplace wouldn't light when we tried it, so we called the front desk and they sent someone who got it going quickly. After that there were no other issues. We would definitely recommend staying there and will again.
