Okay I'm a really patient guy and don't complain. I have to write this review so I can be the only guy that complains about this place and risk being mugged on the street. One of the doctors uses the fact that you cannot understand his strong accent to his advantage. Sometimes I was not given enough information to make decisions about my pet. Their daycare and boarding is actually "dog prison". Those who take their pets there should be ashamed. The older lady uses high pressure sales to get you to buy a 20 day pack of daycare which is not recommended by me. I can cordon off my own space for my dog to stay in during the day. The other dogs never meet your dog and if they do, it is an exciting 15 minutes per day. Their operation is too ambitious for their skill set and they are under staffed. I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to make sure people know what they are getting into before they do.
I retract what I said. I was just upset that Benji was now scared of needles. He still is, but I don't know anything about the vet business. The advantages to the subcutaneous fluid may have out weighed the problem. Benji now only trusts that doctor that gave him the shot. Weird. As for the boarding and daycare. That is standard practice for Vet offices.
I was super nervous go to here as I live close and constantly see them not at the front desk and random animals strolling around in the clinic or I've seen someone in scrubs unlocking the door and there is an animal on its own alone in reception ( i got to the starbucks beside it often) however my poor boyfriends dog needed help and we didn't have a vet in Vancouver as of yet. they were TERRIBLE. horrible attitude, they didn't even look at his dog whom was openly bleeding they just told me to wait. I had to call 3 times just to get an appointment. I didn't know any better. After my super poor experience, and them saying just to watch the dog overnight to see if he bleeds more I ended up taking him to the emergency clinic on burrard later that day. This was a few months back so I pray they actually take care of their animals now and hired responsible people to watch over our animals. My dog end up with 4 sutures and had an obvious infection. IF the vet had really even looked at the dog he probably would've known however all he cared about was how we were going to pay for the appointment. They should be called "Cypress cash or credit"
. as you can see below they don't even take responsibility for their actions go somewhere else whom care.
They always took such good care of Norton. Rates are very good, and all tests were explained well. I'm moving to Victoria and I know it will be difficult to find a Vet this good.
They are very friendly .you know they all love animals .They vets know their stuff. My dog loves going there and that's a plus
We usually go to SPCA for our previous pets a chihuahua and a Jack Russell but they had been so busy and hard to get an appointment. Now we have another Jack Russell and my brother recommend us to go to his vet at cypress st animal hospital. We loved it. The one and one care we got for our new Jack Russell puppy Max was excellent. The Vets and vet staffs are easy to talk to and great with Max. We really loved that they explain things well, making sure Max is comfortable during his vaccination time Using positive distractions like even bringing in soft meaty food :) and massage :) I can always call them anytime with questions and they would answer in professionally. Loved the fact that they are just a phone call away and I can get Max to be looked after. The prices are reasonable. So far it's always been a positive experience. We would definitely recommend them.
Cypress Animal Hospital has very reasonable priced initial examination fees. I recommend friends to get their pet's dental hygiene done at Cypress b/c of the price as well, which is well below the cost of most vets in Vancouver. If your pet has problems, the suggested course of treatment can be expensive, but is left up to your discretion to chose. If you are looking for a conventional vet and a routine check-up for your pet or dental care, Cypress Animal hospital is the place to go.
We visited the clinic 6 times in 7 days with our little guy Frank. They were professional, friendly and kind. Their care is very good and the prices are reasonable based on visits to other clinics downtown. They should receive 4 or 5 stars buttheir service on the Saturday morning was bad to poor. The vet on Saturday morning was very poor. You had the impression he was all business and couldn't wait to go to the next victim. We arranged for additional blood tests as Frank was deteriorating. We asked if we could give the ok for futher treatment or to end the suffering over the phone. We had appointments and ould come in later.WE WERE TOLD THIS WAS FINE. When we arrived, shortly before closing, all we received was the news that nothing had been done, blank stares from the staff and argumentative doctors (who had provided great service previously). I finally told them to STOP ARGUING and that it was THEIR FAULT. Really not happy with how it ended they need to communicate better with their part time staff. Was definitely angry and hurt.
I have had the pleasure of having Dr. Gary Dhillon as my pup Zoltan's vet so far this year, and he is thorough, caring, gentle, and proactive.
Dr. Serena is also a fantastic veterinarian. She is gentle, patient, and very pro-active with the health of her furry patients. I highly recommend her. I feel my pups are safe in her care, and will continue to use her services as needed.
I am also very happy with the office staff, very friendly and efficient. I never have a problem getting an appointment, the prices are decent, and bonus: it's walking distance to my home :)
My dogs and bunny have been patients of Dr. Bhatia for many years. I've been meaning to write a review but sometimes get side tracked. I have had wonderful service there. I know it can be hard to find a good, trusting vet that will be honest with treatment and prices. Last year my dog became very ill, I took her in to hear about the number of options my dog could have. He predicted it was sometype of internal tumor. I heard that the ultrasound was the best option and of course most expensive. I was frustrated and a bit hesitant because there was not many clear signs to saying that the ultrasound would give us what we needed. I waited a week, and everything that he said would happen did, I immediately got the ultrasound and she was then diagnosed with spleen cancer. She had surgery the following day. All of their staff there are extremely accommodating, trusting and caring. Caring was a big thing for me. They take the time necessary for proper care and even do follow up calls. It's nice to know they care about your loved ones. I will continue to attend Cypress Animal Hospital with all my pooches and highly recommend them since I've beenever to many many vets around Vancouver. I found them to be the most trusting & caring.
DO NOT BOARD YOUR PETS HERE! i frequently have had to call the desk and complain, as the animals are left unattended for long periods of time and they dont make sure the dogs get along before leaving them all alone together. when i did call, the man who answered was extremely rude and didn't send anyone in to check.
Cypress was fantastic! The lady at the front desk was very kind to us and our pet, and we found the Dr. to be extremely professional and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend taking your pet here.
They treated my dog so good! The staff is friendly and the vet did a great job on my dogs teeth. Thief rates are also very reasonable.
Horrific customer service experience. Completely patronizing front desk staff, who made previous incorrect notes about me (not my animal); when I went to refill the prescription that my cat has had for many years, I was told that the last perception I filled was the last available on file. When I pleaded for a bridge prescription until I could get my cat in, I was denied.
I threatened to leave a bad review - and she said go ahead.
I called back after visiting in person, and requested to talk to the vet. I tried to get past the front desk staff without giving my name as not to taint the situation, and eventually was hung up on twice. The third time I was told they would no longer offer services to me.
Again - I pleaded that obviously we weren't communicating well - but could they put that aside for the well being of my animal and provide a bridge prescription so I could find another vet in the mean time. I was hung up on again when I requested her name.
The vets are wonderful; but the front desk staff are horrific to deal with. As a long term tenant in the neighbourhood - I am embarrassed to have such a business in my backyard.
