Nice ambiance, good beer. Didnt get a chance to play pool but i love that there was a table there. Free tea was nice
Don’t usually give a 5 but it was perfect stay. The room was neat and modern and clean. The front staff that checked me in were great. The buffet was Simple but more than enough. No complaints. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve EVER slept on. Had the best sleep.
One of my favourite hotels in Calgary with a modern, homey touch. Pet friendly and rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Good variety breakfast with coffee available to go. Staff were very friendly and liked to make us laugh.
It was a great location for our event. The rooms were small but nicely appointed. The staff were all polite and attentive and the included breakfast was tasty. The parking lot was a little tight to navigate and the stalls fill up quickly but they have underground parking that supplemented to surface lot. I would definitely stay there again.
Gave us a debit machine that wasn't working and told us it was our bank card. Called the bank and they verified no attempt was made to withdraw the $390 (250 deposit + 140 room charge). They had another machine that both clerks would not let us attempt to use. This was a clear display of racism towards my cousin and I. Our debit card worked fine at another hotel an hour later.
Reasonably priced hotel close to c-train station. Quiet, clean with friendly staff. Sheers on main floor rooms would be appreciated as roll up blinds don't allow for privacy when open.
The food from its restaurant is so delicious! The house keeping is ok but didn't provide cleaning service in a consistent way. Their breakfast starts 6 am which is good for travelers. It will be better if the breakfast can be more diversified.
The location is perfect if you either are traveling through or need to be close to the university. The C-Train was close by to bring you downtown. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The butter chicken was delicious in the restaurant. The beds were perfect.
We stayed in a double queen room located on the second floor just doors up from the pool entrance. The room was quite large, would fit a full-size playpen if you were traveling with children. Huge tiled shower! Room was far enough away from the elevator it was really quiet. Pool was nice (a little cold for my liking but I like really warm pools), included in our stay was a free hot buffet breakfast. Front Desk was friendly and helpful.
Very upscale but feels welcoming and modern. Friendly efficient staff. Clean and lots on amenities.
Great Decor and Vibe. Pool is small and no hot tub. Beds were medium soft and rooms were clean. Open concept bathrooms in king rooms.
We have meetings twice a year at Aloft Calgary University and every time the hotel exceeds our expectations for service. The conference room we get is always large and comfortable, the food service is excellent with a nice choice of foods that are quite tasty! The service is also great, we always have a staff member around to ensure we have enough in the way of beverages (coffee, hot water etc.) and this morning when I casually mentioned there was no butter for the muffins our staff member heard and I had butter within 3 minutes!! While the hotel is far from where I live it is very easily accessible with good parking and we have quite a few people who take the C-train and it's just as easy to reach on that. Overall, I'm very glad we have our meetings at Aloft as they do a wonderful job hosting us.
So, I'm going to sound whiny and I apologize upfront but it was one thing after another at this place.
When you book a room at $140+ a night you expect there to be hot water. Day 1, warm, Day 2, warm (which I can live with) Day 3, cold, zero hot water. Apparently the hotel was full and all the hot water was used up by 8:30am. Front desk staff could care less. Also they add a (DMF) Destination Marketing Fee to your final bill, which was removed without any problems, (which was appreciated) but the fact that I had to ask for it to be removed when its a 100% cash grab by the owner of the hotel I find that fee low class. Not many hotels in the area charge it. ALOFT is now on the banned list and I will never stay there again. If you like mind craft this is the place for you, room decor is weird and not overly appealing but each to their own. I like a room that is warm and inviting. Also if you get room 248 and a bus parks in-front of your window expect to have to leave your room for an hour while the fumes are circulated out. One of my worst Calgary hotel experiences.
Very modern hotel, the front staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful; I cannot say enough good things about them. The room is spacious, good decor if you're into minecraft. The pool is kind of small, and cold!!! But for the price it's a good value. Close to many restaurants and downtown. Tailored to a younger crowd, the bar is at the front same with the pool table. Overall a decent hotel.
