First off, the hotel has such a warm friendly approach internally and externally. The staff had all our pre-booking documents on hand and signing in was easy. The rooms are cozy enough, however it wasn't too spacious but okay enough to sleep in. All basic utilities are on given, along with a general kitchen. Staying there with my Class mates was splendid. The hotel is located right on the sidewalk, where gifts shops, restaurants and bars are situated. One of the best deals of this hotel is that the beach is literally a 2 minutes walk away. Over all the environment is clean and quiet and safe enough to guard your belongings. The Serenade Hotel is affordable and friendly enough to accommodate your stay in Placencia, Belize.

Got Robbed at 3am while sleeping. Hotel owner unaware/unresponsive/unconcerned about obvious security risks (no safe/lockbox/deadbolt/security/etc.) Used to seeing deadbolts, figured that this town must not have theft issues. How wrong we were. We stayed in Room 6. Theft was reported to police who mentioned this was not the first time the room has been broken into. We are reporting this so that future travellers take more precautions than we did. We suggest bracing something against the door while you're sleeping, and never leaving anything of any value in the room at any time, ever. Not sure where you can put your valuables, but goodluck. Or, you could just stay somewhere else.

Basic hotel, bed to sleep, bathroom to clean and air conditioning. Microwave and fridge in the room. TV channels. Right on the main sidewalk, close to everything.
