Enjoyed 10 days at this paradise on Earth! Worth every penny and would do it again in a heartbeat. We enjoyed the deluxe tree house for our anniversary and it was magical. The space is so romantic, spacious and offers everything you need for the two of you. I'm so glad we picked it; there's a hot tub on the back deck outside the bedroom and a hammock on the front deck! The beauty of being in the canopy of lush trees watching tropical birds was so tranquil. The staff was what made it even more special. We fell in love with the amazingly attentive staff. And the food I couldn't wait to see what the chef was offering each night that was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed a sunset cruise and a candlelight dinner on the beach with full service. We went on the exciting adventures they offer and saw so many incredible things. This was in 2012 and I can't wait to return. Thanks for the memories Hamanasi!!!
This is the best vacation resort for people who want fresh air, sea, mountains, really good people and excellent food and drinks.
Lots of great activities. Informative, kind tour guides! The Belize people are so smart, kind and helpful.
Most memorable was swimming near sea turtles and sting rays, swimming in waterfalls and learning to make chocolate from the fruit of the cacao tree.
Loved our deluxe tree house! Loved the food (I'm a vegan, but traveled with seafood and steak lovers, and they were really happy too). The service was excellent, better than the Ritz Carlton anywhere.
Love Love Love Hamanasi My wife and I went for our 3rd visit this past April and had an incredible experience. The resorts new addition of the second floor dining/library was extraordinary! Gives the entire resort that "Hemingway" feel of relaxed elegance. Can't say enough about the staff from check-in to check-out the entire staff is helpful and knowledgeable the variety of daily adventures sets Hamanasi apart from other resorts, something for everyone from diving, snorkeling, Mayan ruins, birding around the complex, tubing, horseback riding everything and anything can be arranged. We especially enjoyed the snorkeling lead by John, and really ALL the guides their knowledge of the area, hot spots for fish and coral viewing were much appreciated.. Then there is the excellent food, beautiful grounds, pool, hammocks on the beach can't wait for our next visit!
Absolutely fabulous! Beautiful location and resort. Delicious restaurant. Wonderful and warm staff. Panoply of reef activities and land activities. You could not pick a better place to see what Belize has to offer. Can't wait to go back.
We could not have a picked a better place for our stay in Belize. Yes, Hamanasi is a beautiful resort -- but it is the people who make it so special. Everyone genuinely cares and it shows! Personal, impeccable service, comfortable and luxurious rooms but not fussy, incredible food, wonderful adventures each day, and the Caribbean just steps away. It doesn't get any better! We hope to return one day!
It's the staff that made our 5-night stay so memorable. By the first day, they all knew our names, and they consistently bent over backwards to make our stay perfect! The location is idyllic, and the adventures were sufficiently challenging. The staff guides were always there to help us manage the physically difficult parts.
I would highly recommend staying in a treehouse room. Each one is isolated, yet convenient to the main building. It's wonderful to have a forest canopy view from every window.
I would definitely return. It will be like returning to a fantastic second home. After two weeks, I'm still mellow.
In January of 2018 I returned to the Hamanasi with my wife for the second year in a row, and to our delight it was even better this time than the year before. This is a very unique resort that is ideal for guests who want an active vacation. If you are looking for a glitzy hotel, with lots of people around, where you spend much of your time by the pool or on a golf course, this is probably not the right choice for you.
However, if you want to spend your vacation in a gorgeous setting where you can explore the ocean, the jungle and the country of Belize, then the Hamanasi is for you.
For example, this year we took two snorkel trips (one to the Blue Hole), saw the howler monkeys on the Monkey River, swam in the pool at the top of the Mayflower hike, climbed a jungle trail to see the scarlet macaws in the wild and took inter tubes deep into a cave. Plus, on a couple of days we hung out at the resort kayaking and taking long walks on the beach. By the way, on the adventures resort guides go with you and they are extremely informative.
In case you are wondering if you are too old or too young to enjoy the Hamanasi, the answer is that it seems to appeal to all age groups. We were probably some of the oldest guests (77 and 72), but we spent time with a number of honeymoon couples and middle age couples.
And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the food at the Hamanasi because it is delicious and healthy. They serve three full meals a day, including a variety of vegetables from their own impressive garden, fresh fish and fruit that tastes like it was just picked. Yes, there is a bar, which is a good place to socialize with other guests, especially while enjoying the drink of the day during Happy Hour.
Finally the staff at the Hamanasi makes you feel so welcome. They greet you by your name and treat you like family. Everyone working there seems to be proud of the resort and ready to do whatever they can to make sure you have a special vacation
A destination worth it's price!! Stayed in deluxe tree house, beside the food included in the package being delicious, the adventures and guides were TERRIFIC!! Booking agent or person beware of weather conditions and time of year. We only did the adventures offered in the package that the rain didn't affect but if your staying here and going to the blue hole (2-3 hour drive) during possible rainy season or expecting to dive, you might be disappointed. Maya tour with Hamanasi was very informative. If bringing little ones though make sure they have their electronic toys (Maya tour is 2.5 hours each way).
Hamanasi is a VERY clean, professional, and one of the most unique resorts one can experience.
Tipping is obviously nice but I did notice on our guides some did not tip. Your staff (if your an old school tipper like us) can be tipped daily or they provide envelopes where you can tip your bar, server, house cleaner, etc at the end. These people, aren't rotating so the employees from arrival to departure are ones you see daily.
Kid friendly but definitely a quiet place.
We stayed at the Hamanasi Resort back in August and had a phenomenal experience! The staff is super friendly and the customer service was top-notch. The rooms are beautiful - we loved how secluded our tree house room was. However it was still close to everything the resort had to offer - restaurant, pool, beach, etc. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.
If you have ever dreamed of taking a romantic, peaceful vacation to the beach or jungle this is the place. I could go on and on about this resort from the amazing food that made me look forward to every meal. The resort staff that is the epitome of great customer service. The adventure guides that are amazing and very knowledgeable of the sea life, birds, and plants. We will defiantly be going back and bringing people with us.
Getaway vacation for my husband and myself for Anniversary celebration. Fantastic location with beautiful grounds and location. The treehouse rooms are well worth the extra cost. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is fantastic and the activities are top rate. Bikes and Kayaks are available for use anytime to explore. Definitely plan to return in the future. Highly recommend this resort for a wonderful vacation!
My wife and I spend a week at Hamanasi and had one of our best vacations ever. Everything about the resort was fantastic - the Hamanasi staff got to know us in the first two days and made us feel like we'd been going there for years. The adventures were very good (we did two hikes, two snorkel trips and a Mayan Ruins trip) and the relax time was what we needed. We used the hammocks & kayaks a lot, and drinks on the beach hit the spot. We stayed in a tree house which was pretty amazing.
We would definitely recommend Hamanasi!
This was truly the most amazing vacation we have ever been on! Everything was perfect and the staff was so attentive. Everyone called us by name and went out of their way to make sure our visit was excellent. The grounds are so well kept, the excursions offered were amazing, the guides were knowledgeable and added plenty of humor. We will definitely be coming back!
Hamanasi thinks of every detail. By far the best place I've been. The staff and grounds are both wonderful. They go above and beyond. They were very accommodating to our 8 and 10 year old children. Vacations can be stressful and a lot of work for a parent, but I felt pampered and relaxed the entire time. It was hard to leave! We like to visit different places in vacation, but it will be hard not to go back to Hamanasi.
This place is AMAZING! Truly stunning. My husband and I went for our honeymoon last October. We got a package and stayed in the deluxe tree house. It was breath-taking. It was quiet, private, but had great activities, a bar and restaurant. We went hiking, to a jaguar reserve, snorkeling, scuba diving. Every single staff member is kind, knowledgeable, incredibly friendly. They all knew our names and which house was ours. The food was beyond delicious. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this fantastic place!
My girlfriend and I went to Hamanasi for a 7 day get away, and I have to say it was an incredible experience. The customer service and attention to detail was top notch. After only a couple of days everyone addressed us by name and knew our full itinerary. I have a gluten allergy, so that's always a concern when traveling, but Hamanasi grows a lot of their food onsite. Also they were able prepare pancakes, gluten free breads, and overall make it feel like having a personal chef. We did a few of the excursions while we were there. The ATM tour mentioned in national geographic, snorkeling, the boat tour to see the howlers, the magical Mayan history tour, zip-lining, and the mayflower waterfall and jungle hike. It was a great combination of history and adventure. Definitely bring water shoes if you plan to do the ATM and hiking boots if you plan to do the mayflower tour. We stayed in one of the tree house rooms, and It was beautiful. On the last day we were able to have masseurs come to the room, and my girlfriend was also able to have someone local do her hair. It provided the feel of staying in the jungle with all the amenities of a top notch resort. Hamanasi has something for everyone. Just thinking of the sunsets while laying in a hammock on the pier and all the stars at night makes me want to go back. It truly is a magical place.
Our trip to this resort was just what we needed after not having the opportunity for a vacation in 9 years. It’s hard to believe we were lucky enough to have found such a wonderful place. From before we left home the staff checked with us to make sure they had everything we wanted and needed ready upon our arrival including any special needs. Every single person at Hamanasi was so nice and pleasant. We were too tired to bother with any of the adventures but were not pressured to do anything. That was nice. We truly feel blessed to have found such a place and after only being home for a few days are already ready to go back.
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Hamanasi. We could not be happier with our choice! Being an Eco resort the grounds were beautiful. Trees and plants also provided much appreciated privacy on the beach and in the rooms. Management was very flexible when we were booking and customized an inclusive package to suit our needs. When we arrived they surprised us with a bottle of champagne even though we did not opt for the honeymoon package. Their attention to detail made us feel like we were the only guests. Servers had my husband's favorite hot sauce on the table for every meal without us asking, before our food come out. They even picked up a few personal items we needed, in town, and had them waiting for us. The food was above average. The tours were excellent and guides were very knowledgeable. There were mostly couples and families vacationing. While there we checked out other resorts nearby and Hamanasi was far superior in beauty, amenities, service, and professionalism!!
We chose this resort based on trip advisor reviews and can confirm that all the outstanding comments are accurate and reflective of the experience we had. From the moment our small plane landed in Dangriga we were made to feel like family. The staff is beyond gracious, welcoming, and personable. The company has spared no expense in ensuring their team is creating an environment that is inviting, interesting, and enjoyable. We chose the all-inclusive package, which included an outstanding selection of meals, daily excursion packages that were challenging enough for a family of four with a 10 and 11-year-old children and interesting enough to keep the adults engaged and involved the entire time.
I cannot say enough about the tour guides and the team. They get to know you by name. They are omnipresent and yet neither intrusive nor oppressive. Tips are included in the pricing and are pooled for distribution, thus it is far more about a team approach to customer service then about individual performance. Nevertheless, each of the guides we had was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and took the time to point out wildlife, attractions, and were well-versed in the locations we went to.
The resort provides minivans which were comfortable and clean. Lunches were provided picnic style when away from resort and the tour guides sat with us to discuss what we're seeing all along the way. We even found ourselves unexpectedly stopping to look at crocodiles and egrets at the side of a road at one point.
Though there is a lot of driving involved, the Mayan ruins excursion was undoubtedly our family's favorite. Numerous rain forest hikes and other natural wonders of Belize were local to the resort and well worth any time spent on the road.
Overall, her family had an amazing adventure. I cannot wait to go back to this resort.
Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort is the definition of a place you can go to "Not have a care in the world! " My husband and I had our honeymoon here and will be coming back for our anniversary! We did the honeymoon package and it was incredible! All inclusive food, bike, paddle boards, and kayaks, 5 adventures, couples message and a private dinner on the beach. Enormous amounts of gourmet food created by the best chefs and a fancy presentation of the food every night. Extremely clean and the staff had our names memorized after the first day. They made us feel like family not just customers. We would come back to our room and find hand written notes and even messages spelled out on our bed made out of flowers! When I said not a care in the world, I mean it! We never had to worry about plans or changes. Every time I asked do we need to go to the office and sign up for this or that the staff"s response was, "Don't worry someone will find you and take care of it for you!"
Wonderful place, diving, food and staff. We completed 11 dives in 5 days and enjoyed our time in Belize. On our last day we took the Mayan Tour and learned a bit about the Mayan culture. Everything was truly done with excellence. The restaurant had a great variety to choose from each day and the food was excellent. The key lime pie was the best that we have ever had! Thank you Hamanasi for helping us have a great trip.
Our second visit to Hamanasi, and the second visit was even better than the first. The staff is so friendly. They go out of their way to call you by name each time you visit the restaurant, adventure center or where ever you go. The dive staff places safety at a premium and makes sure that everyone can see all the creatures we happen upon. Food is outstanding, drinks are well made and quickly served. The adventures are great. I cannot say enough positive things about this resort. It has become a part of our vacation rotation.
This was our second stay at Hamanasi, the first was 8 years ago. Hamanasi is still perfect. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay. The property is beautiful. We stayed in both a treehouse and a beachfront room and loved them both. Every person you have contact with goes out of their way to be helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our adventures were snorkeling, the river canoe trip and the jaguar preserve. They were all great and the guides and boat captains always make sure you feel safe and secure, have fun, and learn something. The food is delicious. There's no place like Hamanasi!
Amazing Dive and Adventure Eco Lodge. The service was incredible. Everyone learns your name. Food was great. Diving was awesome. Strongly recommend the ATM Caves and Black Hole Drop Adventures.
I booked an all inclusive 5 night package at Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort for March 11-15 2017. Best deal ever! We chose to stay in a tree house (house on stilts among the trees). We were a short walk from the Caribbean Sea. The ambiance is so relaxing! (See picture) The food is wonderful. The service beyond belief. Ex: They offer appetizer samplers and dessert samplers but not dinner samplers. Their menu changed every day, so I was always missing something. I mentioned it to my server - and the rest of the stay I was allowed to order sampler entrees! How cool was that! They have a LOT of tours to offer, though I missed most of them because I wanted to snorkel. I did the trip to Xunantunich and it was great, but spent the remaining days swimming with 1000s of colorful fish. Also saw a tiny sea horse and a small octopus and baracuda and a hermit crab. And, the place is family friendly. Highly recommend.
My husband and I had the perfect honeymoon at Hamanasi! The resort was beautiful, the adventures were awesome and the staff were unbelievable. They made us feel like we were a part of their family from the minute we got there. We are already looking at when we can plan a trip back! We have missed it since the second we left!
We travel a lot and therefore see a lot of good and bad in those travels. Every single thing at Hamanasi is a good! Truly I have never seen or experienced such flawless, caring and happy service! I could name names but the truth is every person we encountered whether grounds, housekeeping, front desk, servers or guides were delightful, fun and caring. We went cave tubing, enjoyed the strenuous mayflower hike, snorkeled, canoed and zip lined through the jungle. Loved it all. The food is abundant and delicious. We used the bikes and kayaks every day too. I cannot say enough about the relaxing, adventurous and exciting week we enjoyed or the wonderful amazing people who make Hamanasi what it is!
Hamanasi was by far one of the most relaxing and most enjoyable vacation our family has had in a long time! The resort is not commercialized and it is very homey. Everyone knows you by your first name and before long even knew our preferences at the dinner table. The entire staff catered to us and our every need and they are so friendly. The adventure staff including our driver from the airport were knowledgeable and were able to share many details about Belize and the area around us. The snorkeling and zip-lining were our favorites!
If you need to relax this is the place to be and being unplugged from the world for a short time and was a wonderful family experience that myself, my husband and our 18 and 20 year old girls actually enjoyed! After dinner spending time in the lounge with the friendly bar staff was great! I cannot say enough about it and my girls have already said they want to go back next year!
