The Taino Beach Resort is a beautiful property. It offers a faulous beach, an enormous pool with water slide and lazy river tubing, a great beach front restaurant offering alfresco dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It offers on site or very proximate access to all manner of watersports: parasailing, snorkeling, scuba, jet skis, glass bottom boat rides and an easy three minute walk to catch the economical ferry to Port Lucaya with numerous dining and shopping offerings. The grounds are lovely. There is access to tennis, a children's playground, shuffleboard, et al. Our lodging was an efficiency. It was garishly ugly (Pepto Bismol pink) with a Flintstones ambiance. The furnishings were dated, soiled and uncomfortable. The TV was small and one had to be so far away the way the room was laid out that it really couldn't be viewed comfortably. We understand the Ocean and Coral units are like this. The Marlin units are modern, homey and comfortable. All units are conveniently located either poolside or oceanside. Strongly recommend the resort upgrade the Coral and Ocean units or else their patrons will not have the kind of experience that the resort itself warrants. Was a good week in an idyllic setting.

The best parts of this resort are the climate, location, proximity to a beautiful beach, and their pool which is first rate.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It's a great getaway while it was snowing up north.
However, there are a few administrative issues to iron out.
Hurricane damage from 2 years ago is still not fixed and the room needs repair.
Their website has not been updated for years and all is not quite as advertised. Advice: if you want ANYTHING like a game, DVD player, grill (charcoal only) (the others were destroyed in a hurricane in 2016), get them as soon as you check in because there are only a few to be had and anyone can check them out and they keep them all week.
Enjoy the swim up grotto bar. Alfie the bartender is great! Tons of fun.
Get to the beach or pool early if you want a chaise. People think that if their towel is on it, they own it forever, which in my opinion, is wrong. First come first served should be the rule. Sorry, but a towel is not a person.
The outdoor restaurant was good with a wide variety of Bahamian and American choices.

Staying at The Marlin portion of this resort. Very friendly staff. Clean, comfortable and quite. Traveling alone and I feel perfectly safe here. A great place to escape if you want to chill by the pool and or on the delightful beach. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Taino Beach resort has 3 buildings. The Marlin at Taino Beach is the renovated one, the furthest building from the beach (but only a 2 minute walk from room to oceanfront) and the only one worth staying at. The building closest to the beach is closed for renovation and the middle building is old and falling apart. The Marlin is clean and really very lovely. The only thing not satisfactory was that the small countertop kitchen appliances (like the toaster, the can opener, the coffee maker) were all very very old and dirty like they didn't replace them when they renovated. Everything built in (microwave, stove top) was new and clean. Bathroom was very clean and new. The smaller studio unit does not have a dishwasher but has a whirlpool tub, and these all have a view of the back parking lot. The larger 1 bedroom has dishwasher but does not have a whirlpool tub, and these are all pool front/view. They are lock off units so if u get both, u'll be connected with the best of everything. The hotel had no water for about 3 hours one day, but it was only 3 hours. The water pressure in the shower stall is very light but the pressure in the tub is great. The pool at this resort is 5 star. I've been to many luxury resorts from Vegas to Dubai and this pool is probably the best pool I've ever been to. It's only demerit is that is not the largest pool I've ever seen and it's not an infinity pool, but it's still big enough! It has swim up bar with wet and dry sections, lazy river, gradual shore-type walk in, water slide, little coves for privacy, waterfalls, tanning beds built in under the water, bridges and arches, lots and lots of space (it's not the biggest pool but it's huge). Pool loungers are the cheap white plastic ones but there are always plenty free, and there are hammocks around the pool and you can always find one empty. The pool is fantastic because it's CLEAN and I'm a clean freak! The beach here is also beautiful and calm and warm. No snorkeling on this beach but there are a few fishes swimming around your feet in the water. It's a very quiet hotel but well well worth it. Be warned though- there's NOTHING here except the hotel. If u want any sign of life, u need to take the ferry to port lucaya ($6 roundtrip, and 1 minute walk from taino beach). But port lucaya is still also very quiet and closes by 6pm, so really nothing to do there either. Supermarket (solomons) is a 20 min+ $20 taxi drive and they are overpriced for tourists. Not recommended unless u do the $4 hotel shuttle on Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon. The restaurant at taino beach (there's only 1) has very small offerings, but delicious. Strongly advise you pack everything you need for the week (food and kitchen and toiletries and supplies) in an extra suitcase and pay the $35 to check it. It's much cheaper and better than having to make multiple trips to get something u thought would be easy to get (like water bottles or coffee). Nothing is accessible so plan to stay put and bring everything u need. Day pass at grand lucayan is NOT worth it since 2 thirds of that resort is closed due to hurricane damage. The hotel snorkel trips are nothing great. 90 minutes- short and good for newbies, although we did surprisingly see a barracuda. This hotel is $25 taxi one way from the airport. There is no ferry to the other Bahamas islands from this island, so don't plan on any island hopping unless u have/ rent your own boat. There are no tours that go to any other island either at taino beach or at port lucaya. So plan to stay put. If u can handle that, u'll have a grand time.

Taino is what you would call beach front. With a colorful coral reef with good snorkeling and amenities Taino is a place I would have to come back to. The staff make you feel like family and a very inviting. The rooms felt very Caribbean and vintage and a unique place to stay. I cant wait to visit again.

Clean, spacious, well equipped rooms. Has been recently renovated so everything seemed nice and fresh. Great location right on the beach, across from the water taxi to Port Lucaya and walking distance to Taino Beach Park. Huge pool and a nice water slide. Plenty of chairs at the pool and on the beach. Staff is very very friendly.

The rooms were were old and in needed of some serious repair. The a/C unit in the room leaked and we had a huge puddle on the floor by the bathroom. Which leads to the shower which did not work and we only had cold water as the knob came off in my hand. The pool was ok and the groto bar had some good drinks, cheap. There Sands beer is a must. The whole island was just Ok and run down a bit. Don't buy American beers or liquor ads it will cost you 3-4 times the price. The Bahamian beer is really good though. Not much to a see unless you dive.

the only reason why im giving an awful review is because i stayed at this place for my honeymoon which was a gift from my mother and father in law. they let us use their RCI points to stay here with their timeshare and they charged us a $100 deposit and never refunded me my $100 back after we checked out. i called once i got back to the US and they told me it could take up to 3 months for the funds to be released! some type of scam that is because its been exactly 3 months to the day and i never received my $100 back. after all of the money i spent there im very upset they didnt follow through and im out $100. RIDICULOUS!
