Water pressure in our shower was terrible. We had nowhere to hang our towels or swimsuits after a day at the beach. You also have to get a new WiFi code everyday from the front desk.

DO NOT COME HERE. Everyone is so rude. Had to pay $100 PER PERSON upfront as a deposit. Was never told this. Big mama told me she was going to “kill me in my sleep” about 4 times because we were upset about paying $100 up front. Got the “all inclusive” plan and was not told is actually was not all inclusive until we arrived. All inclusive is 2 meals a day with a set menu every night and only 6 drinks per day. Our 6 drinks could only be rum punches and were poured out of a sports cooler in the tiniest cups they had. We had to pay TICKETS for everything and only got a set number of them for each day. Meals do not include sides or drinks, you have to pay one of your “drink tickets” for coffee, soda, or anything. Your meal is not actually a meal, just an entree. The menu was printed out on paper and was the same everyday. DO NOT COME HERE!!! IT IS SUCH A SCAM!!!

We stayed at the marina for three nights November 2017. 60’ Sundancer. Very good rates and easy walk to the beach and pool with a bar. Short boat ride to great snorkeling at Peterson Cay. Fuel dock was out of Deisel when we left. Next time we will fill up when we first arrive. Great place but not many slips. We will definitely stay here again.

When you enter a contest for a "Free Bahamas Vacation" at your favorite restaurantyou never expect you'll actually win or that the trip won't be a scam. At the end of July, my boyfriend and I spent 4 nights at Flamingo Bay Hotel and Marina after enjoying an overnight cruise on the Grand Celebration line.

Side note: Blue Harmony Travel (TravelGlobe), the company whom I won the trip from, made it seem like alcohol was included both on the ship and hotel. That is NOT the case. On the cruise ship, meals and regular drinks were included, but not alcohol. At the hotel, NO meals or drinks are included. This definitely upset me but, I am not going to mark down for it. If you're traveling here from winning a trip, there are some extra costs - it is not free. But, it is HEAVILY discounted from the price you'd pay if you were to go on vacation all out of pocket.

Hotel and Rooms: Flamingo Bay is the smallest hotel on the Taino Beach property. However, the rooms are more than comfortable and very nice. The staff were amazing and always willing to help when my boyfriend or I had any questions. We were roomed on the third floor which was a little bit of a pain considering there is no elevator and lugging suitcases up flights of stairs is never fun.

Pool: The pool at Flamingo Bay/Taino Beach is AMAZING! It has tanning beds, hammocks, a water slide, a swim up bar, and a hot tub. However, the bar and slide shut down around 4PM!!! If you are looking for a party hotel, this is not where you want to stay unless you're stocked up on alcohol in your room! My boyfriend and I were shocked by the lack of nightlife at the Taino Beach Resort.

Restaurant: The restaurant is your typical island food stop; expensive and slow. However, the food was nothing short of amazing and the ocean views almost made up for the prices. There was only one restaurant for the entire resort and it was only open until 7-8pm. On our last night, we discovered that Marcos Pizza delivers to the hotel! If you want a cheap or late meal, go with pizza!

Fish Fry: If you stay here on a Wednesday night, you'll have the opportunity to attend the local fish fry! I am a vegetarian (don't eat fish either) and was pleased to find many vegetarian options! The locals threw a huge party after the meal which was amazing to witness.

Port Lucaya Market Place: At Flamingo Bay, you have the option to take a ferry to a market place. I would definitely indulge in this $6 ride. The market place is wonderful! You get to experience local artisans, all sorts of local cuisine, music, street vendors, jewelry shops, souvenirs, and drinks in coconuts - hard to pass up. The market place is also home if the Dolphin Experience which, of course, costs extra. The hotel itself is somewhat isolated so there isn't a whole bunch to do unless you pay for excursions or head to Port Lucaya.

Beach: I've been to many beaches from Mexico, Florida, Hawaii, and Europe but none of those compare to the backyard-beach at Flamingo Bay. The water is an unbelievably rich blue color and completely clear. We saw lots of fish and sting rays during our stay! The beaches are super clean and have very fine sand. Flamingo Bay had little umbrella equipped tables with lounge chairs too.

Overall: If you're looking for a nice, peaceful getaway, Flamingo Bay might be a great option for you! I'd definitely say it is more of a family hotel than a place for a young couple, though.

Terrible Hotel/Motel by the Marina. BEWARE OF SAND FLIES they bite you and suck all your blood i got itchy red sore all over me. When we arrive from the hotel we stayed 3 nights for Memorial Day weekend they gave us the key to our room and that stupid door lock wont open and the key is stuck. We call the front desk and ask for repair no one can ever know how to work??? The beach is beautiful and pool swim bar awesome except the SAND FLIES BUGS!!!

The location is great for people who love the beach. The beach is beautiful. There are lots of chairs and umbrellas. The water is gorgeous. Unfortunately, rude people leave their garbage lying around which I know isn't the hotel's faulty. During the day the water sports place next door is open and you can smell the gasoline from the jetskis if you sit on that side of the beach. The hotel is old, especially compared to some of the other places in the area. You have to pay to use the ferry to the marketplace unlike other hotels who provide you with a pass. The rooms were basic. Our bed definitely had bed bugs. My husband and I had bites all over our legs and arms after sleeping. The hotel also charged me twice for their taxes and fees. You're better off paying a little more and getting better accommodations. I wouldn't stay here again.
