The resort is beautiful but the rooms smell musty from the humidity. Maybe if the air conditioners worked better, it wouldnt be so bad. The view from the room is spectacular. The food in the restaurant was delicious but the service is snail paced. Breakfast buffet cost $24.00 which seemed like a lot for breakfast. We rented boats and did some island hopping which was fabulous. Good restraunts on the neighboring islands. The hotel pool bar was fun. Also had slow service but if you get yourself on Bahama Time it wasn't too bad.
Worst experience I ever had, I will never come back in my life to this place again at the end of the checkout they charge me$800 for a slumlord looking rooms, and I'm still fighting to get my money back .😡 You would think that for money we paid you would get complimentary coffee. I pay $5 for coffee oh ,and they also charge you for water if you happen to come here please don't ever give your debit card they will slam you with charges you don't even know where they came from.
I spent one night here on a work overnight. Check-in was painless, and a bellhop took me and my bag to my room in a golf cart. This is a resort, spread out on the north/East shore of the island. My room was large, clean, and overlooked the ocean. Due to rain, I didn't get to enjoy any of the outdoor activities they offer. The restaurant served good food, and has indoor and outdoor seating, plus a nice outside bar. The workout room was very sparse with two consumer grade treadmills and a flat bench with an assortment of dumbbells that was missing a few pairs. WiFi was very intermittent, making it generally unusable. Four out of five stars due a lack of service (housekeeping had forgotten to put a coffee maker back in my room and I called to get it brought to me and no one did until I saw a maid two hours later). For a leisure traveler this would be a nice place.
Beautiful place, and spacious. The best place we’ve enjoyed in Abaco. Convenient and still private enough to feel at home and truly relaxed. Friendly staff and amenities makes me sure I don’t want to stay anywhere else when I come again. Rum = n-coke-a nut, we’ll be back!k
Great dinners and drinks. Need I say more?
Beautiful views clean and quiet
Very friendly helpful staff. Nice spacious room with modern amenities. Had a good meal in the hotel restaurant, pricey but on par for this area.
Very good. Awesome scenery. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent marina. Restaurant offers great food.
Nice rooms, good beach and restaurant (for the Bahamas). Would give five stars if the internet worked, but they have been "working on it" as long as I have been going there.
I recently stayed at Abaco Beach Resort and I must say the overall experience was excellent. The property and views were beautiful, the beach was peaceful, clean and the nicest beach in Marsh Harbor. (not many hotels have a private beach) The marina was large, in great shape and well provisioned for anything you need. It was great, half of us stayed on the boat and half stayed in the hotel it worked out well. The staff at the hotel, bar, marina and restaurant went above and beyond what you would expect for some places in the Bahamas. The food was great in the ocean front dining room with a wide variety of choices. The rooms were extremely comfortable (good AC) and welcoming, and they offered beautiful views of the ocean. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, they made it their personal mission to ensure our stay was ideal. If I could have stayed longer, I would have. I recommend Abaco Beach Resort, I have stayed in a lot of places in Abaco this was one of the best for many reasons.
It is a nice place with a great outside bar near the pool and great marina
Very friendly staff who made me feel very welcomed. The Wi-Fi was in and out (first world problems). Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely turn.
Don't let there 4 star's fool you. This place is a joke. The water has not worked since last night. Every person I talked to had a different story about this. I heard "it will be on in 15 minutes'" Well 15 minutes has turned into all day. "The tanks need to refill from the city." I was even told the water was back on just to get me to leave them alone. The cleaning ladies didn't even have a clue the water was out when I asked them. They were going down the hall doing their thing. How do you clean a room without water? Think about this. HOW did they clean the bathroom. I know what's in my toilet right now; the same surprise that I found when I checked in. Ya that's right! It was filled with someone's treasures. The restaurant was fully functional yet their water was coming from the same tank source. So did they have water or where they spit shinning the dishes like the cleaning people were the rooms? I guess I'll never know.
It took three rooms to find one that had the AC working yet I still had to deal with a mildew smell. Wifi wouldn't work. Phone's were dead in all the rooms so you couldn't communicate with the front desk. Well, that's not completely true. Mine rang 3 times during the night but there was only static when I picked it up. A lovely helicopter seems to be living in front of the building. Every morning at 7am sky king heads out to play.
Every hotel was booked so we couldn't move. I did have a beautiful view of the ocean. Bring a bucket or shovel my friend so you can dig your own outhouse. They have soap so you can always use the pool. Now that I'm writing this I have no idea why I'm so upset. I'm heading to the pool with my soap.
There's more but isn't this enough for you to make a decision. No they didn't do anything for us if you had that question.
Great food. Service could have been better. They took a while to refill our drinks.
Ggggrrrreeeaattt food I live here and I must say the best FOOD on the Island. You will not regret this place because you will get what you paid for. Great location, huge marina and a beautiful beach to relax.
Wi-Fi is unusable in the rooms, it only seems to work reliably at the pool bar and lobby. Room smelled of bleach and the air conditioning hardly worked.
Stayed here a few times and won't be back. After looking around at other options during my last stay I found many other places that were nicer and more affordable. Just get the general feeling that they don't care about customer service(with the exception of one or two staff members I encountered).
I was put in a room as far as possible away from the office on the highest floor(no elevators) with construction going on around me waking me up several mornings before 9am. I'm on vacation. I want to sleep in some days. By the way, I booked my room 6 months in advance. First morning woke up with bites on my feet and legs. Asked to change rooms and although I saw no other guests for the first few days was told no other rooms were available and they would change the sheets. Rooms are outdated. Had a tiny television that was at least 15 years old, lamps shades were broken, furniture had stains, shower made an annoying whine when it was on, water didn't drain from shower quickly so I was standing in water up to my ankles by the time I took a quick 5 min shower.
Wifi around the facility is awful and nonexistent in the rooms. Wifi gets worse the farther you get from the main office. Had to walk to the main office which is a good quarter mile from the rooms in order to find internet good enough to send text messages. When I got to the main office I found several other people doing the same thing. The manager told her desk clerk to "tell them when they check in there is a wifi outage so they can't come back and complain about it." Well, it was that bad when I was there the previous time a few months ago and they said the same thing.
Instead of having beach towels freely available around the resort they give you one ticket which you can use to redeem a single towel for your entire stay. Make sure don't leave the towel in your room, instead, return the towel to the front desk or pool bar before you leave or you'll be charged $25.00
Now onto the Anglers restaurant. It's supposed to be a nice sit down place to eat. I walk in and the hostess is sitting at the bar across the room chatting with the bartender. She points across the room and says sit over there I'll be there in a second. Okay. I waited maybe 5 minutes with no drink and no menu and then got up and walked over to get her attention(I was the only person in the restaurant). This continued throughout the meal and over 4 days(not many restaurant options as I was there in the off season August and November)(I would recommend Curly Tails down the street for dinner). I felt like I had to work to get them to do their job. Not a pleasant experience. Food was mediocre and overpriced. It's the Bahamas so it's not going to be cheap but for example; I order french toast which was close to $6.00. They brought out one single slice of french toast.
The Abaco Beach Resort could be great if they would focus on improving customer service by training management and staff, updated the rooms and wifi. Next time I'll be staying in Hope Town or Treasure Cay. Maybe at Firefly or Hopetown Harbour Lodge. I visited Hope Town and found the customer service to be better, rooms were nicer, quite a bit cheaper, and blazing fast internet all over.
Honeymooners destination spot! The Ocean behind the restaurant gives such a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner or a memorable family affair.
Great service there! Wonderful people, beautiful scenery, amazing pool, a perfect rooms! I loved it there, I wish i could go back
