Very comfortable and quite hotel, spotlessly clean. Can be a bit of a que to check out if you want an early leave.

This hotel is quite dated. Airco in my room wasn't working and had a sticker on it saying 'soon available' (!!). Not soon enough for my stay. Also, if you need to iron your shirt you're brought to a shabby luggage room to get to work. For 170 euros a night, that's not exactly what I'm expecting.

Location is great for European Union fans; surrounded by embassies, Directorates and Commission buildings and in close proximity to the Parlementarium. Rooms are a little dated but bathrooms are modern, as well as being pristinely clean. Service was as good as you can expect over a small language barrier. Metro takes less than 5 minutes to get into the centre but is a lengthy walk.

Good location if you need to visit the European Commission, but while the hotel looks good from the outside, the rooms are very tired looking and in desperate need of refurbishment. One of the plug sockets in my room was half hanging out and had been like that since my last visit (coincidentally I stayed in the same room).
The safe in my room didn't work and there was no-one who could help until the morning, by which time I had to leave anyway.
I placed a 'Do not disturb' sign on my door - which they duly ignored. When I went to complain I was told that management didn't arrive until 10am, so I left my details and asked them to call me - which they also ignored!
NO AIR CONDITIONING (at least not in my room). Not sure how they can be classed as 4* without that. Room furniture was very basic. I guess you get what you pay for, but for me, I'll only go back as a last resort.response / report this review -

Appears stylish on the website but walls, doors and general standard of finish was poor and in need of being spruced up. Sockets and switches had yellowed with age and cheap looking trunking hid cables. Nice reception and bar but beyond that the standard of hotel falls.

I am loving it. The place is quite and I do not get disturbed. Walking is a trek, but it is nice to see the city on foot.

My experience with the hotel was lower than average.
Pluses: staff friendly, sleeping comfortable though the room was dated. I appreciated bath instead of regular shower corner and the size of the bathroom.
Minuses: Internet was terrible, cleaning ladies not very attentive and the breakfast just okThe room where the breakfast is served does not have any windows, so you dont get a waking-up kick from the natural sunlight in the morning. Awful location for those without a car.
Rooms are adequate; the bed is an okay size for 2, the bathtub is a nice amenity, the thermostat doesn't work (a note saying "soon available" is stuck on it) but there are two heaters guests can operate. The wifi is not bad and the cleaning staff does a good job. The decorations are a little dated, but not that much of an issue. The lack of a coffeemaker/kettle in the room is an issue, as there's just an espresso machine with cartridges that they charge you for. The flat screen TV would be great if we ever watched it.
The room service might've been nice if there was a menu in the room. And the bar/restaurant looks very nice, but there hasn't been any staff there all the times I've checked. The staff at reception were not warm but not rude.
The biggest problem is the location. It's near the Brussels-Schuman metro & train stations and some EU buildings, but besides that, it's very far from anything. No cafes around, very few restaurants and bars (though the ones we found were great!), 2 convenience stores with 1 being open late. And the city center is a half hour walk through business districts.
If not for the great price, I would not stay here. If the same hotel was near the center, I would recommend it as a plan B.response / report this review -

Fridge didnt work, they did nothing about it. No kettle. Asked repeatedly for a baby crib which never came. No room service menu. Overall dim and dismal room. Not 4 stsr by anyone's standards.
