Great location with cafes, restaurants, and southern cross right down the road with shopping stores, trams to take you around. Great room, spacious
Clean but very old building and rooms. Creaky floors, collapsed mattresses. Tiny old bathroom - great for those who love to bump their elbow on the wall. Nowhere near The experiences I've had with Ibis Budget elsewhere.
Nice renovation of combined 3+ older buildings with a maze of hallways to arrive at your room. Rooms ok, staff helpful.
Convenient location to transport including transport to airport. Cafes and restaurants nearby. The Hotel itself is a little quirky I have almost never stayed there without some sort of problem from TV not tuned properly to a TV that simply didn't work to noise from ongoing building Reno's. Also don't expect any views as most rooms lookout at back alley or walls it can seem a little claustrophobic. One thing is staff are mostly genuinely helpful.
Great location, close to almost everything. Room is a decent size, beds are comfortable. Bathroom could be a little better, there's not even a hook to hang your clothes in there. I had a couple of minor problems but the staff were very friendly and promised to fix them quickly. If there's a better place in Melbourne for the money, I haven't found it.
Good location and not too pricy,, room wasn't amazing but you get what you pay for I guess, staff were all really nice and welcoming :)
The best was comfortable but I had some issues. The sink would not drain, the wifi was very poor, and the Air conditioning would not heat the room up, lastly there was a draft from the windows that just seeped away what heat was in there. It was cheap and we were upgraded for free but it was by no means an ideal expierence.
Fair price. Clean. Friendly staff. Great location, right in the middle of the city with easy access to trams and train (near Southern Cross Station).
Great location. 4 minutes' walk away from Southern Cross Station and airport bus terminal. Under renovation. Had great room with good amenities for some coffee or tea, hairdryer and even iron and ironing board. Quiet hotel. Within the free tramzone.
The hotel is at a great location. All the relevant places are at walking distance from here. It offers a heavy and tasty breakfast to tackle the rest of the day. The automatic pancake machine is the star. Basic but essential facilities in the room.
Reasonable place. Value for money
Good value for money ..rooms are clean . great location
Excellent location, friendly staff, reasonably priced, rooms aren't fancy but are comfortable and clean.
It's not bad. It's equal the price and basically it is what you expect from this kind of place. However, the housekeeper should be more focused on details. The rooms are clean, but if you have a closer look, there's actually lot of dust in the room, which can be wiped in a couple of seconds. The reception service is great tho..
This hotel is conveniently located, directly in the heart of the Melbourne CBD and close to landmarks such as Southern Cross Station, Old Melbourne Gaol, Melbourne Museum, Queen Victoria Building, and the State Library of Victoria amongst others. While the location is incredibly convenient, the rooms themselves (including the bathrooms) are very small and not very practical. There's no point having a TV in your room if there is no viable angle at which to watch it. The heater and air conditioner in our room very both very loud and the floors didn't look like they had been cleaned properly prior to us arriving. Other than this, I did find the staff very welcoming and the service generally quite good. I'd happily stay here again but it isn't a hotel that I'd use for a 5 star relaxing weekend away.
