Visited for a ploughman's lunch for two and enjoyed every moment. The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. The indoor areas are stunning, very elegant, and the outdoor surrounds and breathtaking. We were lucky to have a bright, sunny and cool day, so sat out by the lake for lunch. The scenery is soothing and beautifully picturesque, with ducks bobbing and ducking amongst the reeds and lilies.
We enjoyed our wine very much and the food was excellent, leaving us full with some left overs. The grounds are pretty, with short walks available around the lakes and ponds. There are chalets with balconies overlooking the water and a spa/wellness centre for that weekend getaway.
We will definitely come back one day, one of the beautiful places of the world.response / report this review -

We were touring nearby and didn't fancy staying in Hastings. This place showed availability so we popped in to look at a room and perhaps stay there. It is a 5 star hotel so it was a bit surprising they had no formal reception desk, just a table in the hall. Furthermore there was no one around to talk to and no means when inside of calling staff. We waited for a while, walked around inside and then left when no one turned up. It might well be a great place but not one to try on the spur of the moment. We went to the other side of the peninsula to Mornington and stayed in the best western there for half the price. They had a reception area and staff in it. Also a lovely restaurant in a character building adjacent.

Received a gift voucher from family members to go and enjoy a day down the peninsula at woodman estate for lunch. Unable to book on line so I rang and booked over the phone ,confirmed all details and nothing extra to be paid. Upon arrival found the place to be surrounded by lovely well kept gardens . We sat outside overlooking the lake , very relaxing..ordered our food and was told we were upgraded to a 3 course at no extra cost.. GREAT STUFF !!!! No problem thus far. However the food was ordinary apart from the entree and desert was hardly anything. Then came " THE GREAT NEWS " the bill a surcharge of $ 40 .??? When questioned was told Sunday is classed as a dining experience .. OH REALLY !! ! So all in all. N O T H A P P Y. J A N !

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm checking in for a couple of days of hot springs action with the lovely wife for her birthday. At the time high tea was in full swing and we were greeted by Rick who offered us a cup of tea or coffee which we appreciated after our drive. He took us to the reading room to fill in the paperwork and returned with our coffee but also a tray of cakes. Once we had finished he took us on a tour of the main house and then surprised us when he took us to our room which was the spa suite. I had booked the garden suite but they had upgraded us for Maggies birthday. There was quite a bit of difference in the cost of the 2 options around $450 for the 2 nights. We had booked the 7 course degustation dinner in the dining room. The wine list was fantastic with some wines there quite difficult to find anywhere, so we chose a bottle and the food started coming awesome had a great dining experience and being a Sunday night there was only 1 other table. Breakfast the next morning, whatever you want and its fresh and beautiful and well cooked then a day at the springs and back to woodman estate for dinner in the other restaurant where you can order the dishes we had sampled at the degustation or try something different. Again the service and food were faultless we were the only ones in there but it was Monday night. When I booked I asked if the restaurant was open they told me not usually but they would open it for us which they did. Above and beyond the entire experience. Accommodation was spacious and very clean & the food fresh and the best produce from around the Mornington Peninsula NUMBER 1

Beautiful area and a lovely estate to spend the night. Staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring we were well looked after. Restaurant service was exceptional and the food was delicious and plentiful. Recommend for anyone considering a stay. There's also a boat you can use in the private lake!

Had high tea here and it was a great experience. The staff were very attentive to our needs and always friendly. The food was delicious and very filling. I especially love the decor and the look of the house as it felt so homey. Would love to come back again.

I went here with my sister for her birthday for the afternoon high tea. The service was great on the day. Everyone was friendly. The view of the lake was lovely and the old building was so beautiful. The reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because for the price we paid, I expected the food to be really good. It wasnt terrible, but it wasn't out of the ordinary either. The tea was delicious, and so were the scones, but the cakes and sanwiches were not really so exciting. I would have liked more choice on the cakes, and the chocolate eclairs were too sweet, and the sandwiches were a but dry, but otherwise it would be 5 stars, because everything else was really great!! Especially the friendly service and overall ambience.

The service at Woodman estate is impeccable! Upon arrival we were shown around and offered champagne. Our breakfast was beautiful, fresh and well presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being too overly involved in the dining experience. Will definitely return!

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting Woodman Estate for breakfast as a birthday treat before visiting the peninsula hot springs later that day.
We were delighted to be treated to exemplary service and hospitality, on emaculate grounds that took us quite by surprise after driving past so many farms on dirt roads.
There was a continental breakfast with a range to suit almost every breakfast need. (Would have loved some soy, but we aren't fussed)
The Home made jams and preserves were a stand out.
I'm sorry to say I filled up on the continental and didn't leave room to enjoy my hot breakfast.
The coffee was beautiful and the view whilst we ate was even better.

Location is excellent. Nice and quiet and well kept. Food and service was amazing. Staff really polite and made the whole dinning experience perfect. Massage was awesome, staff professional and friendly. Room was modest but well furnished, clean and what we needed.
