I'm a vinyl person and I didn't realise that their main forte was CD's until I was actually there so my opinion may be slightly biassed. The CD selection was, from what I saw, really quite extensive, however the vinyl selection wasn't bad but it was dear, and second hand records were scarce and expensive. The lady there was very friendly, she knew where everything was and couldn't be faulted. The decor was pretty cool too.
Found two albums that had been on my want list for a long time. The lady behind the counter was very nice.
A lovely displayed store, however the lady behind the counter was so rude. Her customer service is appalling. When I asked for assistance, she treated me like I was a 2 year old and was extremely patronizing. When I couldn't find the section I was looking for (because of her poor directions) she shook her head, implying I was an inconvenience. I walked out and refused to give them any business. Very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Melbourne institution, a broad range of rock, indie pop, alternative, blue grass, blues whatever your musical taste in the groove scene. EDM users, move along, nothing to see here.
Down a set of stairs in a little lane you'll find Basement Discs. A very cool looking record shop with a great selection. I've been there many times and found the staff to be friendly and helpful even when I've had a problem with an item (got a full refund without hassle). Also they have free live music on most Fridays which is always worth attending.
Excellent music store, great selection of music in an interesting basement location. Occasional guest performances by musicians too. Well with a visit.
Have long discovered this wonderful 'Aladdin's Cave' of music on CD and vinyl.Staff are really knowledgeable and helpful about a wide range of music. I live in regional Victoria and just have to email or pick up the phone to place an order. Best place for music and to shop for music too!
