Tonight me and a friend visited for dinner.
We both left hungry, having had one of the worst meals I have ever had.
I ordered the chefs special brisket burger, which sounded great, and at $25 each I expected it to be just that.
I received what seemed to be a dinner roll, with coleslaw and only a slither of brisket, which deemed the burger almost inedible.
I then said something about it and more than 75 of my burger was taken away with the comment "I will pass the message on" I was not offered any replacement or apology.
As I approached the till I was charged $77 for us to go to another restaurant and eat properly.
I would be absolutely ashamed to not only charge this for a substandard meal but ashamed that the chef takes any pride in food like this.
I have forwarded this to the operations manager and I will post her reply to me under this as it doesn't seem to me that "the grand" (ironic name I think) takes as much effort in their social media as they do in customer service and food.
The 1 star is for the lemon lime bitters I got which was perfect.

Good food, a level above regular pub grub. Good service order food at the table and drinks at the bar. Need to book Thursday through Sunday to guarantee a table in the restaurant. Food available at outside tables (order at the public bar) for dog owners, although can get pretty busy. Very happy this is our local.

From the outside this Grand Hotel looked inviting however once inside I was less excited about the atmosphere and decor. A very friendly family venue with a small kids playroom and a few video games and a great kids menu. The food all looked fantastic and I was happily surprised with the quality. I had a perfectly cooked scotch fillet steak with beer battered chips & a rocket, balsamic and parmasen salad, others had the pulled pork burger, Asian beef salad, kids pasta & kids chicken nuggets. Food great! Atmosphere average.
