Both our children have been delivered here and we have had an excellent experience with the maternity ward and neonatal care unit both times. I was a little shocked to see how many one star reviews there are on here, as this does not match with my experience of this hospital at all. But looking closer it seems most of the bad reviews are due to disgruntled patients who have had to wait a long to be seen by the emergency department. I can’t speak for this, but almost everyone I know who’s had to come here for childbirth has had an exceptional experience.

Highly recommend the excellent skills of Dr Siva Chadrasekaren who is exceptionally talented both surgically and personally in his treatment of patients. Thank you Dr Siva!

Maternity ward review. I gave birth to my daughter on the 12th of July and my only bad review goes to the Labour ward/assessment unit. While I was contracting (evidently on the monitor I'll add) there was a woman next to me faking her contractions which was highly obvious. After waiting outside in the hall getting sent home to "labour some more on my own" the woman openly admitted to me that she was faking it so she could get induced to have her baby as she was 38 weeks pregnant and sick of it. I was overdue, contracting and I got sent home 3 times..not this woman who wouldn't take no for an answer?!!!? Not to mention , waiting 3-4 hours to be seen while you are clearly laboring in the waiting room in front of strangers is highly unacceptable. I wasn't taken seriously because it was my first birth. I can't fault the after care and I will add that Sandra my midwife was the most professional/caring midwife I have come across in all of my pregnancy experience. I won't be giving birth here again unfortunately.

Overall experience in good. Friendly service. But it us unfair to charge parking for people who doesnt have medicare cos, we pay a huge amount for appointments. Parking facility should be provided for patients who pay from their pocket.

This review regards a staff member in the canteen. The girl with the piercings around her mouth - you need to learn some proper customer service! Immediately! Not one single word came out of her mouth when she served me. Maybe she would have split her lips if she tried to crack a smile on her blank lifeless face too. Basically shoved my food in my face as she gave it to me and did the same with the eftpos machine as I was paying. In a place where there can be many people feeling worried, scared or sad from some bad news about loved ones they are visiting, pathetic service like that is the last thing they need.
The doctor and nurse that were attending my mother however were great.

The wait was rather long, but it always is at a hospital. The staff are always under the pump, however I'd like to especially thank my nurse, Jess and the medical student, James for looking after me today. Both really friendly and caring, made sure I was okay and when I had a less than ideal reaction with antibiotics, Jess was calm and quickly got me to lay down, checked my heart rate and calmed me down in the middle of a spasm. Very professional, and she did a fantastic job. Thankyou so much.

I am 64. I went in with severe stomach pains. The nurses & doctors couldn't do enough. They placed me on morphine to ease the pain, while I underwent several tests and scans. I can't speak highly enough of all the team. They made me comfy for the 6 hrs I was in there, while I got a diagnosis. We have to accept they are not miracle makers. They do their best, work long hours while being understaffed at times. If you want to blame anyone, lets blame our Governments. Understaffed hospitals are everywhere. Thank you so much for my treatment. Terri

Was there for wife's day surgery on her ear. Wait time is as expected for public access. But nurses were very accommodating to our circumstances. They were very polite and professional. My wife expresses her thanks. You were very wonderful and she felt very safe in your hands.

Had very good experience and treatment when I delivered my daughter last month. I also opted for team Maternity services at the hospital. All the midwives are very knowledgable and caring. The post natal care is also good

Triage staff were wonderful, as were those in the short stay unit. The nurse/dr I had in the ED were rude, argued with me when I brought up my past symptoms, made inappropriate and offensive comments about me and were generally as uncaring as possible. If I hadn't been in so much pain I would have left and found another hospital. Was also supposed to have a follow up appointment, 18 months later, nothing.

Wonderful experience. You have to wait of course, but it is an emergency unit. Helpful triage nurse, likewise the medical staff in the units. They care!
