Emergency staff have been wonderful when we've been unfortunate enough to visit! Hats off to these hard working, caring individuals

Came in yesterday morning feeling quite ordinary and concerned. Staff were great, immediate response considering the number of people around. Straight to recovery room, looked at by a doctor who listens and examines (rather than one that listens only - there to get treated (which unfortunately I meet some the previous day when attending emergency)), and I appropriate tests arranged. All Doctor's I dealt with (DR Helen), nurses and orderlies acted with great professionalism. After spending the day in there and having plenty of time to observe wouldn't want there job for quids - some unappreciative people out there.
Thanks Ballarat Base - hope I don't have to return (other than what I have already been booked into for).

Very disgusted with how some staff treated my partner. He comes in with our sick daughter and he gets accused of being on something. Now if a woman went in with having no sleep like my partner did u wouldn't of even questioned her. My partner didn't deserve to be treated like that and made out to be some sort of junkie all because he was exhausted from no sleep and being a full on hands on dad. Here is a news flash men stay up all night looking after their sick kids too and they don't deserve to be questioned or judge just because he is male. Disgusted

Poor form Base, leaving a cancer patient with a leaking peg waiting for 2 plus hours! Seems when you know a person is terminal you don't give a dam about them! They are too much hassle and not worth the trouble is how you make them feel! It's called a hippocratic oath, not a hypocrite oath!!

The staff were fantastic, the doctors were informative and the nurses provided a quality of care.

After leaving the team provided me with ongoing support outside the hospital, went as far as to contact my local clinic about my operation and educated me on care for my wound.

Big thumbs up to the Ballarat Base Hospital!

Having spent considerable time at Ballarat Hospital for a number of procedures I feel qualified to offer my opinions. Firstly, the staff is incomparable and the best that I have encountered. Their Orthopaedic section is totally beyond reproach and is of a quality that cannot be surpassed, but Ballarat Urology is to be steered clear of under any circumstances as, in my case, their incompetency knows no bounds.
Regarding the re-vamped Drummond Street entry, I was appalled at the ugly, echoing, and totally useless use of space, and accompanied by the I-couldn't-give-a-rat's-whaddya-want attitude of the receptionist, it's a place I don't want to be in.In future I shall use the rear entrance so as not to be dismayed by the pathetic architecture - the designer of which should be sent back to school

My 91 year old Mum has just had Hip operation and fantastic staff, her recovery is going really well, better than expected. Most times my family have been in the hospital, we have had professional caring staff and services.

Wards are tired and dated but can't fault the treatment side.

Wow what a lovely bunch of people. I checked into Emergency on what was a very busy day for them. Everyone was so lovely, and a staff member even came out into the waiting area to greet everyone and apologize for the fact it was a busy day and that the wait would be long. She assured everyone however that they would get them and treat them. The wait turned out not to be long at all. They had that waiting room cleared out within 90mins. Impressive. Not sure where they pulled all those doctors from but wow.
