Awesome;) staff is nice and kind they even upgraded our rooms and gave extra key:) it looks like it's run by teenagers who don't like cleaning or caring but that's a positive review they do it in an awesome way. We LL be back!

Don't live here! Noisy at Friday night. People party until 2 am midnight with loud music to be heard at the third floor. Some staff lives there but no staff showed up to stop the party. No staff is controlling the living quality. Cold in the room. Only biscuit thin blanket provided at 10 celsius nights. At such cold night the heater was off in the room, probably no heater at all. Moreover, the wifi is dead. Wifi shows to be connected but no signal at all. Dirty, messy and smelly room like never been cleaned. Trash ,waste and personal belongings are all over the floor.Like staying in a massive trash bin. I felt like living in a homeless camp. Everything is unqualified to run this business of hostle. Everything was very disappointing. I would not want to live there even if they paid me a big sum of money. This place should shut down.

Cheapest bed in Perth. Old building but very helpful staff and friendly backpackers. It has everything you need for a cheap stay. I'll be back again!

The very definition of a flophouse. The building is incredibly run down, and obviously will be demolished in under a decade, as the neighborhood is gentrifying fast. Not downright dirty, just dingy and shappy. Occupants can be nice (as are staff), but it's mostly long term residents on work visas, with some tourists who got duped by the nice pictures on booking sites. Said site's pictures are at least a decade old.

Beware reviews claiming it's somehow excellent or fun and exciting or a great hostel. They're astroturfers, as no objective review (let alone someone who has stayed in an Aussie backpacker hostel before) could rate this above a 2, even if you met the love of your life there. Frankly, it's below most 3rd world backpacker places in quality.

People say you get what you pay for, but the Hive doesn't even reach that low bar.

Best hostel I've ever stayed at! As a solo, female traveler everyone made me feel safe and comfortable. The door required a combination at night and each room locked -- so I felt confident enough to leave my stuff unlocked and nothing was stolen. I stayed in an 8 person room and was given clean bedding which added to its homeliness. There was almost always an employee cleaning which helped keep the place neat and fresh. Every employee was extremely helpful and offered travel advice and directions, which was important since I refused to buy a phone plan and relied on wifi. The wifi worked well although slow at some points (hence the 4 stars and not 5). They have a beautiful backyard to escape from the business of the street during the day. I would gladly stay there again and recommend it to all of my friends who intend to visit Perth!

The whole place was absolutely filthy and smelly. Very noisy, we couldn't sleep because of people drinking and partying in beer garden. Toilets were disgusting

This hostel was one of the most horrible places I ever saw. It's a dirty hostel and there isn't a good light in the bathroom, it looks like a disco when you take a shower. You can't even see your own toes. We booked a 4 person room and it smells. The staff is ok friendly. It's really loud as well. It's not even worth it for so less money.
