Good selection of beers with a surprising lack of venomous snakes. In fact, I didn't see a single venomous snake at all!

The food was delicious, but while I appreciate it was very busy, we had to repeatedly try flag someone to get drinks and even then it was a long wait. Staff were accommodating though and got the food orders through quickly, just a shame we couldn't enjoy more drinks at the same time. Great food though, pork belly was amazing!

Beautiful location. The hotel itself was stunning with beautiful trees and quaint seating areas. The bar was well tended and staff were friendly and professional. Dinner in the chapel was first class and all in all a very enjoyable experience.

I really enjoyed lunch at the Rose and Crown this weekend. Even though the beer garden was really busy our drinks and lunches arrived very quickly. The staff were friendly and it was a pleasant way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Great grub in a lovely historic spot. The place has several different kinds of seating in the same venue from romantic gazebos to big pub tables. Great beer selection on tap and in the fridge too.

Thankyou so much for making our Wedding Day extra special. Your attention to detail and caring nature made Andrew & myself feel so comfortable knowing it would be perfect. The food was delicious, your staff were friendly and attentative and enjoyed chatting with our guests, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Perth's premium atmosphere beer garden. I have friends who live within minutes of the Barossa Valley and still talk about their visit here and ask that we make sure they come back next time they are in Perth. When someone has access to so many quality food and wine places it says something when this one sticks in their mind. Good beer garden foods and a formal restaurant inside with access to a great range of craft beers and award winning wines.

Had dinner there with friends in the Posh Convict Restaurant on a Monday night (after discovering that most of the other restaurants close by are closed on a Monday). It was nice to see the Restaurant so full. The food was excellent (the 3 dishes we had were Pork Belly, Pumpkin Ravioli & Tagliatelli) and of course the old hotel has great character and atmosphere. The service was also prompt and friendly. Maybe not the cheapest meal in town, but better than I could cook myself which I can't say about a lot of places these days. Only thing I wasn't fussed on was the fresh oysters, and I would definitely go again.

The R&C is one of the nicest pubs in Guildford. It offers something for everyone, with fine dining all the way through to a pub garden with pizza as your only option!
I've always found the food in the dining section to be excellent albeit a little expensive but I was actually a little dissapointed with the pizza I had recently. The Hens House was a bit boring and the flavour was average I would say.
The beer selection in the garden is also far less exciting than the Guildford Hotel, but it makes up a lot of points by having a very nicely decorated beer garden which is far more relaxing than the pumping Guildford Hotel.
I love coming here but I think the pizzas and the drinks might need a revamp soon.response / report this review -

Great room, great price, we attended for a wedding and it was simply amazing. The little touches and details really made the event special. All the staff were amazing and the food etc etc it was just great all round

Nice ambience and they had their water misters on to help keep us cool. The music wasn't too loud. It was just very pleasant.

Manager at the 1841 garden restaurant seated me and my family at a table. Asked whether or not we would like sparkling or tap water. We said tap waited for over 15 minutes and still no water on a 35 degree day. Overheard an elder gentleman complain to same woman saying he had been waiting for water for 20 minutes. No body came to the table to take the order. Poor poor service. Rose and crown was my go to. Safe to say better service at the garden section. Hopefully rose and crown will acknowledge the lack of service in the 1841 garden and see the need to improve in order for customer quality and satisfaction.
