Feels like the hotel was built in the 70s and hasn't been updated since. Dirty carpets, old furniture, out-dated fittings, rusty leaks in the hotel pool - this place has it all. The only saving grace are the nice & helpful staff & ease of transport (taxis & Uber drivers are often close by due to the nearby hospital).

This hotel is desperately in need of refurbishing. The bathroom, furniture and fittings are very old. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet so I had a good sleep. The location is convenient to the university. Not good value for money.

Very disappointed to hear of my friend's experience when he stayed here with family visiting from overseas. The family arrived late in the evening to a room which reeked of urine and had an old kettle where rust came out with the boiled water. He did not complain to Rydges at the time but & I am doing so now so another weary traveller won't have the same bad experience. Although I see there are other complaints about the urine smell. As an Australian I am embarrassed to think such substandard accommodation existed in a well known global hotel like Rydges in a major city in Australia.

The only thing going for this hotel is the location. Went to a conference there, and I was amazed by the rudeness of some staff. Shame as others were really friendly. One staff member especially stood out with her incredibly inappropriate way of addressing people. I have her name, and I am considering complaining to managemen about her. Not a good look, especially as the facilities are dated and in dire need of upgrading.

Great location and some good food. Some staff are incredibly rude. Very inconsistent service experience.

The hotel is decidedly old and musty, with a 70s era sign out front. The room's carpet looked really ancient and had a bit of smell. I have previously had a much better experience at the Quest apartments next door.

No availability to watch own movies by plugging in an external hard drive to the on house TV. The staff came across as very nonchalant and unsympathetic to our requests.

Just because the rooms are relatively inexpensive,, doesn't mean their attitude should be cheap

Nicely looked after with nearby facilities such as the hospital next door and the City of Sydney region very close by. Rooms are of good size and the beds are very comfortable. I recommended you stay here, also good price.

Rooms were old and dated, air conditioner was terrible it made a humming noise (non normal aircon noise) all night which made for a bad sleep. Bathroom grout was missing around the tiles and general dirt and grime. Breakfast was its only saving grace, which a lovely selection of hot and cold options.

Rooms very dated, but clean. Restaurant is basic but try to make look posh. My T-bone asked for medium and got rare to blue. Breakfast on the other hand was wonderful. All you Can eat buffet. Bacon eggs tomato mushrooms and various danish pastries. Quality was good.

Value for price paid in Sydney. Very convenient location. Very personable staff and wonderful restaurant staff - over and beyond.
Room itself could use a revamp and bathroom could seriously use an update and makeover.
    Car park requires skill !!!
    However I will stay again.

Initially my stay was for 1 night then I found out I was to have more tests at RPA (terminal illness etc) so I increased my stay to 4 nights and needed an extra so 5 in all. I could not fault it. I loved my room, you definately put a smile on my face with the view which made my stay even better. I just felt compared to other hotels in the area and in Sydney that the parking was very hefty at $25 pn. I will be coming back in a few more weeks to do it all again.

Hotel was as advertised, easy to get to, parking was easy, but I never tried the underground option.

Couple of minor niggles, the cable ducting at the windows was annoying as I kept kicking it as I stood at the window, and the cost of the breakfast seemed excessive at $24. I realise there are overheads but I doubt I could have eaten $24 worth of food given what was on offer.

I will use the hotel again as those minor issues were not off-putting.

All the staff is prepared, nice and helpful to solving all the problems. The bed is very comfortable, have a medium good restaurant, one bar with happy hour, sevice in the room, is nearly to the city center, quite zone very near to many restaurants and supermarkets, wine shop also, one parking . Nothing is missing. I like this hotel.

Very old hotel and it shows however it was very clean and the service was good. Pool looks like it needs an overhaul. No pre booked parking and the underground carpark is a bit of a struggle to navigate safely.
