The place was fairly clean and not as smelly as other locations. However extremely loud environment with lots of disrespectful young adults who aren't capable of cleaning up after themselves. The staff wasn't very friendly and seemed like I was bothering them when checking in and asking questions about the area. Ended up walking down to wake up to talk to their staff about suggestions. Would not stay here again even with the cleaner rooms.

Excellent location, lovely staff, clean facilities and cool bedrooms inside train cars. Easy access for shops, bars and restaurants.

I've stayed only one night at this YHA.
My experience was great. The location is very central and offers many options to eat, etc.
They have multiple showers and bathrooms, plugs for each bed and they do breakfast and meals.

Decent hotel, good toilets and showers. Good place to stay for backpackers. I really enjoyed my stay there but every morning the staff would yell in their speakers for the people who were going to checkout and in the afternoon for their daily happenings. Overall good though

Its very much a backpackers hotel. Bed was suitbly nice, but someone had made a horrible stinky mess in the toilet and still had not been cleaned up from the time I arriaved on Saturday evening to when I left come mid Sunday morning. :(

Stayed 1 night in an 8 share room. The place is looking tired in the rooms and bathrooms, the bed had a worn spot where everyone previously had slept.
I normally like YHA but was disappointed this time.
    Friendly staff, Great location though!

Rooms are clean and comfortable, bathrooms clean, but not many places to put clothes or towels while showering. Common area has lots of space, however was not very clean. Wifi is good.

The railway carriage is simply great. It has the feel of living in a train platform. I love the rather clean room.

I had a rather restful sleep in one of the railway carriages. I did not get to talk to others as they seem to be in groups, and I am busy with my own commitments. I feel safe in the hostel.

If you need a more peaceful rest, sleep in the regular rooms :)

A bit pricey but an awesome hostel. You really can't go wrong with a YHA. It's worth the extra $. Great facilities, friendly staff, comfy beds and daily activities if you want to join in. Also right next to central station so easy access to everywhere. Walk through china town to darling harbour in around 20mins or down to the botanical gardens and opera house in 30. Would highly recommend.

Great price for cheap accomodation. Nevertheless, WIFI does not reach properly some rooms, furthermore, the zone in whiche the hotel is located makes you want to be outside.

Location is good for the price if you're wanting close to the Harbour, and excellent of you're wanting close to the train station. Overall, very supervised and well kept. Facilities for cooking are very well organized and stocked. This hostel seems to attract groups, so it's a bit hard to find connection if you're traveling alone. Internet and air conditioning were acceptable, although noise from trains may be a problem for light sleepers.

The private rooms are great. Very silent and clean. The staff is not super happy, but helpful. Kitchen is big, maybe some more fridges could improve it even more.

My room was clean, comfortable and had a hanging rack, stool, desk and double bed with bunk. I had no issues at all with the room and every staff member I dealt with was fantastic. My chief complaint is the amount of noise other guests were making at 1 am and even later. There was yelling, raucous laughter, rearranging furniture and animated games of pool. It was really ridiculous. I've never stayed at a hostel where guests were permitted to use public areas right near guest rooms at such a late hour and so loudly. My second issue is that there were signs encouraging smoking right outside the front door, on the covered verandah. It is not at all appropriate to have your guests walk through a cloud of carcinogens to access your hostel. Without these issues it would be a great place to stay, with a fantastic location.

Super clean facilities and rooms, I was beyond impressed by the lockers in the hostel rooms and breakfast options. I stayed for two nights. Accommodating staff. Close to Chinatown if you like that sort of food, and right by all the other hostels.
