You're better off going to the dive shop in Manly. The range here is limited.
Great open water course squeezed into one weekend outside of business hours. Professional and educational while still being friendly and fun. Sean G the instructor is a great balance of approachable, amicable and instructive. Would do again.
My weekend consisted of a boat dive near Bondi and a shore dive off Shelly beach, Manly. Our Guide was full of energy; pointing out the Weedy Sea Dragons and Port Jackson sharks.
Never think about doing your SSI open water with an instructor named: Sean ****, he is not confident enough to certify ppl and he will let you do it again and again! What a waste of money! Do your ssi ow with any dive centre in the world but never do it here!
Amazing staff, trips and deals. I would highly recommend using them for your open water certification or boat/shore dives in Sydney.
Nice place and friendly staff, I was enjoy my dives. Good equipment to and the dive master was professional.
We have now had two horrendous experiences with this group. I was reluctant to post about our first experience where two staff members made jokes about rape and various other inappropriate comments to the group, however, our most recent experience only cemented the extremely unprofessional nature of this outfit.
I am still coming to terms with the fact that my partner and I were yelled and sworn at and publically humiliated in front of everyone on the boat for using the toilet (among others) by the skipper who spat, "you f***en stuffed the toilet". Even if we had, this was appauling way to treat paying cutomers who are inevitably there for an enjoyable experience. Two of the worst experiences we have ever had with any company of any kind.
Two strikes and you're out boys.
The shop has great products variety with many convenient bundle buy. The guys who work at Pro Dive Shop are always helpful and really know about dividing.. because they are all divers! The school is amazing too, I'm glad I learnt diving with them. Since ny first course I continued to do double boat dives regularly and I hope to be able to do an overnight trip with them.
Just completed my Open Water cert. What a brilliant experience. Wayde and Henri were professional, patient and made the weekend heaps of fun. Looking forward to more dives with Pro Dive Manly. Highly recommended!
I got my license recently and the staff were great and friendly. The facilities are great and their products like masks and bcds are top quality.
Absolutely horrible. Our dive location was changed due to poor weather and conditions - something easily pre predicted by experienced dive guides. Prodive was aware of the conditions however sent 7 divers with one dive guide all for a double guided dive. I had called the day before to check the visibility of the water indicating that the dive should be cancelled or extra guides be placed on the dive. As we are each paying over $100 to be there for the day the company can afford to put an extra dive guide, splitting the group into a 3 - 4 mix making it much easier for the dive guide to keep track of all divers.
I have dived with many different dive companies and dive guides, right from the beginning I didn't have faith in my dive guide as she made comments showing how disrespectful to other dive guides she herself was, and how disrespectful and unaware of the ocean she was.
We got in the water and the visibility was 5 metres at best. With faulty gear I kept at the back to avoid divers who weren't great with their bouyancy or had faulty gear that kept automatically inflating sending them up to the surface then down to the ground.
On the second dive when we finally found the motorbike under the water we had less than 10 seconds to inspect it before the group left. As we looked up, the dive guide and group had left. Given the poor visibility we searched for 1 minute, slowly kicking in the direction we last saw them go before surfacing.
As we surfaced a current was pulling us back out to sea so we kicked in towards the shore. We were on the surface for approximately 3 minutes before the dive guide surfaced and then another minute while she searched in the wrong direction for us - not thinking to turn 360 degrees.
All of this could have easily been avoided by providing adequate staffing for the conditions. Prodive was aware of the quality of the water given we had had rain for the past 5 days yet failed to provide an additional dive guide.
I have never felt so unsafe and untrusting of a dive guide or their gear before and will never be diving with prodive again.
Friendly and very helpful staff. If you're a first time diver or looking to get an open water license the crammer course at Pro Dive over the weekend is perfect
Jerks think they own Fairy Bower/Shelly Beach carpark, happy to park you in then never move even if there is a free space. Inconsiderate or just rude and arrogant flogs who think they own the neighbourhood. Do something for your brand and be happy friendly people not tough guys in xxxl wetsuits.
If staff where any good they would show you it's 1000 times easier to put your wetsuit on in the water rather than waste half your energy stretching the thing to its death whilst trying to put it on dry in the sun
The Pro Dive course in Manly-Brookvale is terrific. Our instructor Dean was very experienced and thorough. He is clearly passionate about diving and transmits his knowledge clearly and pays attention to the little details that make all the difference. I look forward to upgrading my skills with Dean and his team again and diving with them around Sydney. I recommend you do the same.
