Absolutely love Ovolo! Doesnt really offer room service or a great breakfast but honestly I am nit-picking. The rooms are TERRIFIC, the service is really great and the location is amazing. Highly recommend. Brilliant value for money. LIke really really good.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Lots of cute quirky touches made it feel really special. Dog friendly was a huge plus and so nicely done. Negatives: parking was a full block away from the hotel. "Grab and go breakfast" was the worst hotel breakfast I have ever had. Looked like it was supplied by 7eleven.

Our room was spacious and super comfortable. Free mini bar was a welcome surprise along with a nice breakfast!! Chris at the front desk was so friendly and helpful with making our booking and giving us tips for getting around the city. Highly recommended

Traveling to Melbourne quite often the hotel was quite a nice discovery. Small and cute this place gives you pleasant feeling of relaxation and care. Stylish design, comfy bed, good bathroom, Apple TV and Alexa in the room. Last but not least - minibar in the room is free :)

Absolutely adored our stay here. We stayed in the terrace suits with and were impressed from the minute we walked through the doors. Staff were thoughtful, kind and helpful, nothing was a problem. The details throughout the hotel make it really fun and our kids thought it was the best thing ever. We will definitely be back and couldn't recommend it more!

For the room tariff paid the quality of the room and inclusions seems to one of the best in Melbourne. The service was amazing also. Love the free mini bar and free wifi.

Pleasant surprise package. First-time stay, booked online, based on website with little advance knowledge
Friendly and helpful reception.
Studio room, clean, modern with rainfall showerhead. Urban, contemporary style.
Free lolly bar and coffee in lobby area.
Hidden surprises included Apple TV, free goodies/lolly bag in the room and TOTALLY FREE minibar! T2 teabags in the room also.
Parking was discounted from the usual overnight rate of $79 with hotel coupon, with final cost just $16 for CBD parking.
Continental breakfast on the rooftop terrace for just $15 per person. Informal lounge style and great view.
Not a fan of the feather pillows, too soft for our liking. Suggest pillow alternative/menu.
Mattress too hard for most Westerners/Europeans.
Overall, pleasant, boutique-style hotel. Will stay again for sure.

The good - excellent location. Stroll to all the inner city fabulousness of melbourne.
Warm welcome and excellent staff.
Comfortable beds, famous freebies.

Free breakfast and happy hour if you book direct with the hotel. So find that online bargain price, call the hotel direct and ask them to price match.

The bad - what happened to the sink design in the bathroom?! Not deep enough to wash your face, let alone brush your teeth. Fix it! The annoyance factor alone cancels out the the freebie good vibe.

Convenient location, walking distance to city centre and restaurants, but far enough that it doesn't get too noisy with the traffic. Don't expect any views from the room windows, but the freebies in the room fridge and the candy bar at the reception are awesome! The toilet sink is a bit of a joke. Too narrow to be of much use. Other than that, the rest of the room is pretty clean, modern and comfortable for a short stay.

The service in this hotel in phenomenal! From the reservation department, to front office to the guy who just ran clean towels up to us. The touches you have all put on making your hotel a little better is second to none. A special thank you to Alice from the front desk who was so wonderfully helpful, funny and warm. I have now stayed in all your Australian hotels and will continue to do so! I can't wait until my next Asia trip where I can try them out over there!! Well done! 100% recommend!!

The service staff were all very helpful and friendly from the reception to the housekeeping. Location is excellent within the CBD and easily accessible by free tram network but also walking distance to the hip suburbs of Carlton and Fitzroy. The rooms are well appointed with every amenity expected of a hotel. Free minibar, snacks and tote bag were a pleasant perk. Free coffee and lollies and use of brollies are a nice touch too. The studio room was pretty small and walls are pretty thin, it didn't bother us much. Overall we were happy with our stay at Ovolo Laneways.

I've stayed here twice. Great value for how much you pay, friendly staff, free breakfast and wifi and mini bar. Got an upgrade that was amazing. Staff were happy to remove any animal derived bedding for my allergies. One tip would be to pick a room on a high level or the road will wake you up early.

Awesome boutique hotel. Very modern yet has a lot of character. Free bag of goodies along with mini fridge that they restock daily free of charge. Really neat experience.

Had an amazing time at Ovolo Laneways Melbourne with my girlfriends for a "girls night out". We had planned to meet at the Hotel and go out for dinner and drinks however when we arrived they had upgraded us to the penthouse and so impressive was this space with it's outstanding amenities, (spa on the outdoor terrace and free champagne!), that we decided we would get takeaway and have a "girls night in". It was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was great too. Staff are super accommodating and friendly, rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and fun. Very convenient part of the city. I will be back. Thanks for looking after us guys!

Ovolo laneways has really well spaced rooms, and even greater service. Little touches all around the hotel make for a smooth place to stay during a holiday. Make sure you reserve on their website so you get the free breakfast options, lots of choice and organic options.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked this hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around

The service provided by staff was fantastic, they were friendly and professional.
The room was clean and well kept.

Rooms are nice. No bar or restaurant which is a real Downer. No room service. Really just a serviced apartment. Location is great!
