Hands down the most efficient affordable mechanics I’ve experienced in cairns. I had a page and a half of things inspected and fixed on our Subaru including the timing belt, and I received my car back 5 hours later. They have fantastic customer service, including showing you all the parts they change. I will only use Midas cairns from now on👍🏻

Car service was conducted without unexpected issues being raised and within the estimated cost as discussed at the time of booking. That was in itself a pleasant surprise, since this was the first time using Midas Cairns, and they seemed a little "slick" at first contact.

Took my car in for a 180k logbook service. Thought I would try them out as I have heard such great news about them, only to find out that they wrecked my car even more, it was more like a rushed job, with immature apprentice kids who need a older person to guide them through what they are doing, not just leaving them alone to do it themselves. Worst place for a car service, my car when I went to pick it up, drove it only out of their Midas driveway and then my car lights started flashing, on the dashboard meaning that something was wrong with my engine. I took it straight back, they just moved a few wires around as the guy forgot to connect it back in properly. Next day, I start my car and all of this smoke starts coming out of the exhaust pipes, so I take it back in and they say to me that it's because it cold in the morning, like we are in Cairns you dipshit, my car doesn't get cold. Anyways, he says he will take a look at it, only to make the problem worst. I am seeking legal advice, these businesses in Cairns, are not reliable in delivering real car serving instead they do it so you go back in to get things fixed so they can rip you off, don't take your vehicle into this place, they are scammers, and will only try to do what's best for their own pockets not yours.

Booked in for a minor service and wheel alignment and walked away $1100 poorer. We believe we were conned and the rotors ands wheel bearings were fine and did not need replacing. A couple of smooth talking operators in my opinion. Would not recommend at all.

Did a very poor job servicing our 4WD. They left the sump plug loose enough to come out on half a twist (nearly could have cost me a new engine)! Despite me asking them specifically to check the brakes, they just replaced the unevenly worn brake pad without actually checking the brake caliper, or asking if I wanted it checked - not long after my brake caliper seized entirely and wrecked my wheel bearing. The didn't top up the diff gear fluid, which was contaminated with water - so I suspect that it wasn't even checked, despite saying so on the service invoice. Didn't bother to tell me that one of my bash plate bolts was gone causing the bash plate to rattle. Honestly, I'm not a mechanic and I'm pretty sure I did a better job fixing up my own car afterwards than the paid professionals. When I rang to complain, the manager did apologize and offer a discount on a future service. But when I'm driving up the Cape every few weeks - how can I trust their mechanics?!

I've used Kevin and his team at Midas for a number of years now for both my personal and business vehicles and can't speak highly enough of them. I find them courteous, informative, accommodating and most importantly cost effective.

Had our Grand Vitara serviced here! Were told that several things would have to be done. Instead of telling us what is important and what can be done at a different time, they asked how much we can spend and then they would figure out what we can get for that price. Seems like an unprofessional and not transparent way to deal with customers.
Had to get our timing belt done and told them that we had a brand new timing belt as spare part sitting in the back of car under a box. In the end, they didn't use that one and we had to pay 80$ for a new belt! Their excuse was that they couldn't find ours sitting in the back and didn't want to look through our personal belongings, even though we gave them the permission to do that. Could have saved us 80$!!!! Car and boxes were not touched (nobody searched for the belt!!!!) and didn't even try to call us back and ask where to find it or if okay with a new belt. Seemed very stressed out and without patience!!!!
Addressed this issue to them (only got bad excuses) and the state manager of Midas. State manager did understand our complaint but was only able to give us a voucher for our next service with Midas as the store manager in Cairns refused to give us back 80$ for the belt. OVERALL NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AND VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Wouldn't trust my car to them again!

I haven't had my car serviced here but I just wanted to say thanks to the supremely friendly bloke who chatted to me about finding a good used car when I phoned to ask whether they did pre-purchase inspections. He talked about different models and the issues each generally have. He was very helpful and very friendly. Thank you!
