Recently went in for a chip repair on an old jag. Despite their best efforts the chip was unrepairable and the cracks just got larger. This isn't the first classic car I've had repaired and occasionally old chips and brittle glass just can't be fixed. However, unlike most operators, O'Brien's took the blame on themselves for being unable to fix it and offered to fit a whole new windscreen for trade price (seriously cheap) and didn't charge me for the chip repair. The screen was ordered without deposit, shipped quickly and fitted once it arrived within an hour. None of the chrome trim around the gasket was damaged or bent and no mastic found its way inside or onto the bodywork. Something about a new windscreen just makes a car look fresh and renewed.
So thanks to the guys and gal at O'Brien's Cairns. A shame not everyone has had such a good experience, but it's worth remembering most people just review to complain.response / report this review -

Broke the outer door handle and when picking up the car was told to go get my own handle and they would fix me up. So drove out to Toyota and bought the handle and now they not only refuse to pay for it they are refusing to fit it. Most expensive windscreen in the bloody world

Amazing service. I had a rear windscreen replaced. Not only were they $300 cheaper than anyone else in Cairns, they ordered the screen without deposit unlike other places that wanted 50% upfront. They even organised free tinting with another business in town.
Staff were all courteous and professional. It's was a really great experience.response / report this review -

small windscreen chip
had to sign waiver but was told success repair rate was 99%
cost $134 ($85 dollars in melbourne for similar chip)
told to come back in 20 min (chap in melbourne took over an hour was told at the time the process could not be rushed)
came back 20 min later and were told we were the unlucky 1 % and now had large cracks
new screen quoted @ over $500 (rang around for quotes and got one for 1/2 that price)
o briens did not have screen in stock but would ring us when it was available (still waiting for call 4 weeks later)response / report this review
