Love the park! Always well kept and a joy to visit. The train is always lots of fun for the kids!
(Mid-Dec Update) I'm shocked, I honestly had very little faith that something would get finally sorted out in regards to a refund or any compensation for not being able to stay at the Werribee Mansion. I am pleasantly surprised that Renee and team have chased and chased and in the end chosen to given me a refund directly.
This comes at a cost to them but they also value and understand the price of good customer service. Well done to the team, I am looking forward to it coming through just before Christmas and now hoping they do get refunded by whoever has held on to the money (still a mystery).
Nice to know some places still value the customer over the $.
(Dec Update) Still no refund. Yet the hotel has apologised and has informed me they are actively chasing it from the company who held on to my money.
(Nov Update) Unfortunately I have to change my review as I have been played around chasing money from the hotel. I cancelled with plenty of notice and a medical certificate showcasing why I couldn't stay. They denied the refund and blamed the middle man, extremely disappointing.
A welcoming facility with great bar and nice wedding reception facilities. Friendly faces and great staff who made it very accommodating.
Rooms are nice, and the mansion and grounds are beautiful. Staff were superb, always happy, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Food is great, even the buffet breakfast (usually lacking at most hotels) was good. 10/10 would stay again.
Reading lots of reviews, but had to experience to know. I’m a foodie and love to go out. Booked for dinner, received confirmation call the day before which is great, good start. Saturday night dinner - extraordinary
The young waitress knew her gig, the manager was friendly and always hands on, I will definitely tell people to ignore these BS comments and experience the journey
A welcoming facility with great bar and nice wedding reception facilities. Friendly faces and great staff who made it very accommodating. Would recommend for a more intimate wedding with an opportunity to stay the night and even visit the zoo the next day.
This place is simply great. Nice room, first class service from staff. The restaurant meals were expensive but worth it. The building is beautiful and historic. Highly recommended. I can't wait to stay there again.
Loved the park! Always well kept and a joy to visit. The train is always lots of fun for the kids!
The place is an old monastery I believe set in lovely grounds. I had a small room but clean. Quite noisy air con. Breakfast quite good selection but I always hate those nasty spoons caked full of cold food in the dishes at the buffet. Wonderful coffee/latte/capo's. Dining room is last orders by 8pm so don't be late for dinner. Bar is open later. There is a room next door with an open fire which was quite nice. Friendly staff. Overall, a nice place for a business meeting/workshop.
Upon arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff and complementary beverages and important information we needed for our stay in Werribee. Stayed in the heritage room, with a comfortable Queen bed, clean bathroom and generous spaces for your luggage, it was perfect for us. The staff were absolutely accommodating to our every needs as fast as they could. Getting to walk around the gardens and free entry to the Werribee Mansion was an experience you can not get anywhere else. Highly recommend the Mansion hotel.
The spa was cold. Lacklustre effort on interior decoration and utilization of space. Most staff were super friendly except for one which when I ordered ice for room service he literally did not know what ice was. It was a very odd experience. We only came here because we had received a voucher as a gift. I would never go here and pay money and I have already told everyone I know about this experience which seems to be the general consensus of this place anyway (especially the restaurant). I feel sorry for anyone whp has booked a function here for the near future.
Arrived on Saturday thinking we could have a nice anniversary weekend of relaxation having booked the "wine & dine" package. When we arrived, the hotel was overflowing with 3 weddings! I rang up for a pillow service as advertised in the room and was told they'd run out of all pillows, couldn't even get a normal pillow but was offered a cushion from the lobby. Thought we'd have a nice steam and relax instead, but turns out the gents steam room was out of order "sorry for the inconvenience" so husband ended up catching a chill walking back to the room! Halls were scattered with dirty dishes and room service trays, to top it off there was a foul smell in our room like rotten eggs! The only saving grace was the restaurant but service of the meals was so slow it took 45min between entres and mains.. so all in all 2.5hours for 3 course dinner! Thought we'd have a drink in the "library" as indicated when booking the package but was told it was booked for a private function - we were offered a seat in the lobby instead. All in all the worst 5 star hotel I've stayed in. They need to rethink how they sell themselves to leisure clients on weekends as obviously they cater mainly for wedding crowds! Disappointed!
The events team at Werribee mansion are always a pleasure to deal with. Gregory, Sharon & Tash are always so lovely and organised. Cannot recommend this venue any more highly for weddings and events! :)
Really special staff who made our weekend memorable. My daughter was thrilled with the attention given due to it being her birthday weekend.
Added to the great care shown by the people who make it work was the quality and presentation of the food, the rooms and the grounds. The rates were great value for what was provided. We all look forward to our next visit.
A fantastic spa hotel with an interesting history. I am glad that they have been able to restore the house to it's former glory after the Catholic church stripped it bare and made it into a seminary.
I would give this hotel five stars, the staff were awesome at all times and the food great, but for the fact that the spa was closed over Xmas and the spa was one reason we visited over that period.
At least the pool remained open and was a definite plus.
Recommended, but check the status of the spa for your visit _before_ booking to avoid any disappointment.
