Recently renovated. Comfy seating. Popcorn is sometimes cold cause they make it in big batches and let it go cold before you buy it, but it's still delicious. Prices are all through the roof, so we ended up buying a home cinema and hardly go to the movies anymore. Hoyts Belconnen is still a good pick for comfort if you ARE going to a cinema.

Pro: the seats were good
Con: $8.50 for an IKEA-quality hot dog! They forgot to add any sauce and they took 20 minutes to arrive. We also had two drinks which took the food bill to $30 - outrageous!
The guy behind the counter was so busy (or on speed) doing who knows what that he could barely answer a single question, and we had to repeat ourselves 5 times.
Will bring my own snacks and drink next time.response / report this review -

It's a great place to take in a movie. Reclining seats are very comfortable. Selection of movies is also good although they lost a star because of time scheduling for some movies. Sometimes we want to watch a partial movie but are unable to because of the scheduled times are inconvenient and are the same inconvenient times day after day. They could change the viewing times from day to day to give those of us with limited free time better options.

Great cinema! Comfortable reclining seats, always clean, and great sound/picture!
I made a mistake with my ticket, booked for Woden not Belconnen. They were extremely helpful with my mistake and i bought a new ticket, they are refunding me the amount for the previous ticket!

My partner and I live locally, and come here all the time. I just saw a couple of negative reviews which prompted me to put in my two cents.
Also in reference to another review, be aware that parking is only free when entry is after 6pm. All other hours, it is free for the first two hours (but Hoyts can also validate your parking for extra time). Also, don't park at the front side of the shopping centre in the evening as that portion of Westfield shuts down!
Also, another customer has mentioned that they were charged for a membership card but found 'no value on it'. This is a loyalty points program; you build up points until you have enough for a ticket there won't be 'value' immediately, but we have found it to be well worth it.
My partner and I have rarely had bad experiences here. The staff are great, attentive, and I can always rely on them to sort out a problem if we have one. A little while ago we bought electronic tickets for the previous day in error -- when we let them know, they exchanged our tickets immediately, even though they absolutely weren't obliged to and potentially lost sales from the previous showing from our mistake.
I also love the ease in buying tickets We just buy them online beforehand, select our seats, and then show the barcode of the PDF at the podium on the way in. No lines except for entry.response / report this review -

*****Be vigilant at counter***** The staff at ticket sale counter are bunch of liar and thugs. We bought the family ticket for Boss Bay 10:15 am show today and they charged $52 instead of $42 which was the price as per their website. I trusted them and did not verify at that time because kids were disturbing me, but when I realize later it was too late to complain them. They also sold me the membership card and charged $13 for it, but when I activated the card online, it was having no value in it.

What an unpleasant experience today. Firstly with the new renovations the popcorn us stale and not fresh. There are NO prices of the combos and not to mention today was 28 degrees and the cinema felt as hot as that with adults and kids falling asleep. Given yhe experience cost my family and our friends family $200 was absolutely disgusting. Your recliners are good the rest needs massive improvements Lift your game Hoyts.

Just wanted to leave a top review because not only is this place so comfy and perfectly air-conditioned they have the friendliest staff and are very helpful. After a mix up of me buying the wrong tickets for the wrong day they happily changed it even though the movie had already screened. I was surprised at how understanding the staff were and how polite they handled the situation.

This is my favourite movie theatre, they have great seating and have good sized screens. It is a good place for parties. The only downside is the prices of food and entry are pretty high.
