Great place to visit, wen't to Canberra for a visit and this was the best attraction i have been too You can see how your coin was made (because there was a coin maker) and a lot of other cool things. The shop was pretty expensive though because i had gotten a 1 dollar coin which costed me 15 bucks. although it was cool because it was an circulated alphabet coin. it was still awesome.

Want to see coins being made? want to make your own minted coin? Come to the mint! The kids love it as do the adults. Add it to your Canberra must do.

About an hour experience at the mint. The tour guide was delightful. The displays are well done. The beat part was striking our own 1 dollar coin.

Fascinating journey through the minting of coins process We spent a long time watching Titan (machine) maneovere massive drums of coins around the workshop floor. Great experience for kids.

It was good and interesting. It was great fun as I am only 10 years old. I loved it when I got to make my own coin. The gift shop was good too, but it disappointed me because there was no 2007 for the birth coins.

The mint itself is great, the cafe however is very disappointing. Bought a cup of coffee, and it was luke warm at best. When I requested to get it heated up more, instead of complying or apologising, he responded with "we can't serve hot coffee here". Coffee is meant to be hot!!

A great way to spend a few hours of you are interested in coins and the history. It's open to visitors on a daily basis and even a couple of tours/talks are offered - all free. Upstairs is a very interesting display of coin designs from the famous gold and silversmith Stuart Devlin. At the end the gallery allows you to look into the factory through the windows and watch the process of the coinage. Everything about the processes is explained and displayed in detail on several computer screens. Gift shop and café available on the ground floor. Well done.

When in Canberra make it a point to visit the mint. They've got a great collection of exhibits i.e. coins from various parts of the world from centuries ago. You can also catch a glimpse of a 20 min movie on a day within the mint and the value it offers to the australian people. Worth taking a walk around the mint (during the week, not weekends) to see the mint in action. The large machines are worth watching from the gallery. Nice experience overall. You can also make your own 1 $ coin for a cost of 3 $:)

This was definitely an experience. Recommend taking the tour to learn about the history of coins in Australia. It's also a great place if you have just a little time to fill in as it doesn't take long to look around.
