Great resort, dive shop, restaurant and boat staff. Amazing resort. The bar staff are happy and friendly and the restaurant food is to die for.

We received nothing but great hospitality.

We were able to upgrade to a ocean view room with little issue. The beaches are amazing and the reefs surrounding are worth snorkeling (note that low tide is very low and make sure you ask the dive shop the low tide times so you aren't swimming over the reef to late.

The turtle recovery centre is worth a visit to see the different types of turtles around the area. We personally we lucky enough to see a green sea turtle breakfasting near the reef while we were snorkeling in the morning. We also heard that there was a couple of reef sharks and a manta ray visiting the reef but unfortunately we were not lucky enough to see them.

You have the option of doing an intro dive in the glass bottom boat (wet) tour - we didn't at the time, but I definitely will do so in future.

There are plenty of walking tracks on the island which we had intended to do, but as I had sprained my ankle a couple of weeks before, we didn't want to risk it, however there are plenty of things to do instead, like paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling and visiting the outer reef on a reef tour. We spent most of the time relaxing on the beach, at the bar (which has great food too), on our balcony and snorkeling or swimming in the resort pool (note the resort pool is not heated, and in June is cooler than the sea temperature - but the swim up pool bar totally makes up for it).

Can't wait to go there again and get to the top of the island and do the walking tracks.

Easy to get too. Great island. Walk to the top and to the light house then relax and cool down with a swim at Nudey's Beach ;)

This id a good place to spend s few days. Room range from luxurious to basic. Service generally ok but haphazard at times. Good beaches and water activities. Under an hour from Cairns by ferry.

Loved the island. Rain forest walks and beaches. No hassle. Good food. Chill vibe. More for singles or families. Not a party island.

We went to Fitzroy Island with Raging Thunder. Spent the day visiting and snorkeling at the Coral Beaches, hiking to the summit and relaxing at Foxy's bar. Also enjoyed a lovely tour of the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre. Overall a wonderful time.

Really friendly staff who kept the bar open late for our group. Good cocktails especially the kiwi one!! The steak was cooked to perfection, and really surprised me at the quality so keep up the good work.

Beautiful place. A little tired and needs some more facilities for non-resort visitors (like somewhere to sit!). Glass bottom tour and snorkelling was great.

Fitzroy island is fantastic. The day trip we went on with raging thunder was simple and easy, the staff were fantastic, polite, accommodating and went above and beyond to help out. The water was a little murkey, but I'm sure cyclone Debbie contributed to that. Great snorkeling.

Great Island to visit. Coral beaches as far as the eye can see. Hiked to the top of this island. Also, kayaked to Little Fitzroy island, and enjoyed a bit of history while hiking around this little island. Also snorkeled a bit here also.

The actual resort facilities are good. The family room was fantastic. A little dated, but still very nice.
The island is magnificent. Great way to see some of the reef and a good way to start kids of with snorkeling.
The family rooms have cooking facilities I would strongly suggest self catering. The food on the island is mostly fried or very expensive for an average product.
The beach bar/restaurant is probably better value.
The staff let this place down enormously. For the first interaction on the island the person reception was rude, and unhelpful with information about where we could leave our luggage for an early check-in and what facilities we could use prior to our room being available (by comparison, we also stayed at another resort (palm cove) and the service and initial greeting was so inviting we used all the facilities and spent over $200 prior to checking in to our room).

The wait staff on Fitzroy Island are ill-informed and with no real training.
We order entrees and mains in the restaurant. The server also asked if I wanted the "sauce stuff" to go with the dish I had order. When the mains arrived we requested the wine menu.
The wait person came back when we had finished our meals to take the wine order.
It was not busy and the staff were having chat amongst themselves for most of our meal.
The supervisor has a very poor understand of hospitality (I run hospitality venues) and is has open disdain for children.

This could be a great venue with fantastic service.
The general manager should look at his hiring policy and training programs.

Great location, great facilities, very average staff.

Awesome experience! Very clear water. Many fishes in the coral areas. Coral bleaching wasn't too strong so we could enjoy many colorful and different types of coral. Had fun snorkeling, kayaking and buggy jumping.
