Very disappointing!!!
i have owned four VW vehicles over the years and have to say the last few months dealing with VW has been nothing but frustrating
One of those experiences was that we purchased a brand new VW polo and had it booked in for its first service.
After we spent $400 on a "first" service was told that they had noticed that the air con had a problem with the sensor but that it had been fixed. Wow , awesome that’s great news coming into spring now. Being that it had been winter we didn't notice as there hadn't been any hot days for us to use it.
We picked it up and on the way home one of the hub caps came off, ( we live 2kms from service centre)!!??
So we rang and to inform them of what had happened and was told that "we" must have driven over a hump or hit a gutter for that to happen, however, we could purchase one for $190!!! wait what????
Secondly, after a few weeks we had some hot days finally, and of course went to use the "fixed" air con however all that was coming out was hot air.
I rang back, again, to inform and obviously book in and was told that the only time they could fit me in was 2 weeks away.
There was no apology or urgency to get it in sooner due to not only the inconvenience of having to come back in and drop it off but also for the mere fact that the issue wasn't fixed to begin with!!!!!
And that is only with one of our Vw cars, if I was to write a review on our Toureg I would need to have an hour spare out of my time just to explain.
Also, receptionists are very rude and robotic!!!!!! every time!!!!
Ps. I am writing this review while I have called the centre and have now been on hold for 27 min!!!response / report this review -

OK place to get a VW (unless you want to go further afield), but watch out for pressure upselling of unnecessary work during services. (updated review)

We have just taken our hot little hatch home from Essendon Volkswagen and would like to thank Ruby for her exceptional customer service!
She is friendly and knowledgeable and went the extra mile to deliver our dream car in record time. She knew the car inside out and her passion for the product only fuelled the love we already had for it!
The rest of the team at the dealership were super nice with lots of smiles, so I look forward to zipping in for a service when the time comes.

I took my golf r there for a service, i bought the car from another dealership so i was a bit concerned with getting my car in for a service before my holiday. I called up and the service department and they where very helpful. They booked me in with a loan car as im on the road for work. The service was done on time and even kept me up to date through out the day. Great work to the manager and service department.

Recently test drove an Amarok at Essendon Volkswagen and was very impressed. Danny Newman took the time to understand what I was looking for in a vehicle as well as what my wife was after and tailored our drive accordingly. Whilst this sounds like sales 101, in our experience it was rare and highly valued. Thanks Danny!

Excellent sales service from both Dale and Christopher. Made buying my new Golf R a tremendous, easy and no pressure experience. Great knowledge by both and relates well not only to you but the whole family. Thanks Dale and Christopher and the entire Essendon Volkswagen crew for such a wonderful environment to purchase a new vehicle.

Dealt with a great salesman (Aaron) who actually knew about cars, and was a car enthusiast to boot (it showed). Honest and not pushy at all. Got a great deal on a demo Jetta and a good trade-in on the old car. Looking forward to an ongoing relationship with the dealer and the brand.December 2015

All I can say is wow outstanding service from the beginning to the end. I have experienced different dealerships over the years and this is my first time purchasing a VW. I had fantastic customer service all round I purchased My car off David he went above and beyond to assist me. I then dealt with Matt from finance who put me at ease with the funding component around the purchase and might I add gained me a great interest rate and worked within a payment scheme to suit my needs. Chris assisted with putting this all together in a nice little package including my trade in vehicle. I honestly wouldn't hesitate to recommend this team as a whole if your in the market for a new car 10/10 keep up the good work team I'll see you all when it's time to service my new beast

Best experience I've had buying a new car. Walked in expecting some guy in slacks pulled up to high, smelling like cigarettes to hard sell me a car. Instead I found great friendly people who made me laugh.
Adam handled the sale, top bloke.. easy to talk to, laughed alot. Didnt give you that car salesman feeling.
Karla handled the financing. Explained it all. Drew me a graph. Made it simple. No hidden stuff, really transparent. Good for a laugh to.
You know you have had a good experience when you walk out still laughing, and think maybe I should buy the wife a golf.

Buying my new car here was amazing. I dealt with Joe, who is the best car salesman I've ever dealt with. Very friendly guy, adds humour to the whole process. Very talented in car sales. He doesn't pressure you, he just works with what you want. Also Matt in finance, was a pleasure to deal with. He was very quick, he explained all the paperwork for me, pointed me in the right direction not for the dealers benefit, but for my benefit. Another talented person in their field of work. Planning to buy a VW? Come here and ask for Joe and then ask for Matt in finance. 👍🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely deplorable service After returning a missed call from the centre I was advised in a rude and obnoxious tone that my car had already been picked up so they were unsure why I was returning the missed call. When I rang to thank my boyfriend for picking the car up early he was extremely confused because he HADN'T picked my car up at all! When I called back demanding to understand where my car was the service centre couldn't tell me and had to call me back. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I had to WAIT for them to call back as it was being 'investigated'. UNBELIEVABLE. in the meantime I had to cancel a meeting because I needed to be available to answer the phone to understand where my car was. No reassurance in the meantime, no confidence from their end that they were on to it. Nothing. On top of that I emailed Volkswagen Essendon directly immediately after the car had been found to share the terrible experience and I am still yet to receive a reply. I would be very wary of having your vehicle serviced here. Phenomenally terrible experience will never ever return.
