Love going to the drive-in! Their halloween event is the best event on the peninsula! So much fun, their tag line is "make a memory" and indeed you do.
Loved the experience! You drive in, pick a spot to camp out, and tune your radio to a specific channel. Our car (a Volkswagen golf) was not prepared for the movie: it kept shutting the radio off every half hour as a safety feature! Make sure you know how to get comfortable, some people brought bean bags, but it started to rain so we were glad we converted the back of our car into a mini bed. Would do again!
What an awesome halloween display this year 2017. The horror characters running around scared the be jesus out of me every time at Carnevil. The intricate detail and effort put into the props in the diner are a credit to the owners and staff. Such a great night.
They go into the Entertainment book but can hardly even use the vouchers cause they are tight asses and dont allow you to most of the time. Poor excuses as to why too. Not even bothering going for our first of many times.. Lunar Drive-In doesnt have these conditions and is cheaper.. so there we shall go!!
Nice drive in. Cafe is well worth a look for the movie memorabilia and magic mirrors. Kids playground and was not crowded even during a nice night during school holidays. The raised earth areas to park your car are the best of any drive in I've been allowing a decent angle to view the screen. Just remember to pack the aerogard.
Fun place for a horror movie. Especially when there are not so many other cars
The Dromana Drive-In is a nice place to go on your own, with a friend or your lover and chill out for a movie or two. Add that to the comfort of your own personal space, it's like having a private cinema.
Best place ever to watch a movie under the stars, it's like stepping back into the 1950's with Shel's Diner. Amazing merchandise, fabulous memorabilia, the burgers are to die for! The staff were friendly and efficient, the night I came they were dressed up as 'Hot Dogs' for the movie The Sausage Party, quality of presentation excellent!!!
This place rocks!
Absolutely pathetic, got here for a 9:15 movie, it's now 9:40 and we're only just getting into the field!
Wouldn't even rate it a one, but had to put something in to give such a rate.
One person serving in the diner, line nearly out the door.
DO NOT COME HERE!!!! Go to Lunar Drive In - in Dandenong, they're cheaper too!!!!
45 minutes later the movie is finally starting!
Diner closed 20 minutes into movie! All lights off, only light that was on was in the kitchen.
I've read the other reviews and responses from Owners & pretty disgusted by some responses from the owners, I get that your a 'family owned business' but come on, I've seen plenty of family owned and run businesses have more respect for customers.
Will not be coming here again even tho this is closer to home than Lunar.
Wasn't very happy with my experience. I felt intimidated by staff as they don't smile, as I was at the cafe a young girl had slammed her order book down and sighed as she miserably said "next." I then got served by a woman who I had to greet myself as she looked away and wasn't very happy to speak to me. As I was ordering my food she cut me off short and decided to tell me my total before I could have finished ordering. Which was hard to believe the pricing, I can understand pricing for tickets as I read reviews, yes they do need to run the place but I don't believe the costs of food need to be marked up as well. 2 600ml drinks and peanut mnms - $18.40?
We were not able to borrow a radio as your policy is apparently "there's nothing wrong with your radio you can't have one" we had a feeling our car battery would dieand it did.
Popcorn station is awesome, must take the kids in to have a look. Decorated full of disney characters and lifesize moulds, very fun and exciting for the kids. Ticket guy was a bit pushy and blunt but young staff inside were friendly.
Tried ordering a hot dog, milkshake and coffee but apparently they didn't want to defrost any or make any milkshakes and had turned off the coffee machine before the movie even began. Now I understand if you're in cleaning process to pack up the night but closing kitchen before the last movie even begins is terrible. We planned to have a light snack before our movie with the small food selection they have or offer yet only ended up with cold popcorn and a cold drink. I don't understand why they turned everything off before the movie since they have 2 hours to do so during the movie time anyway! Terrible!
Lots of fun. Bring snacks as the food is a bit pricey but it's a lovely throwback with many screens. Great for the family of for a fun date.
