Having just moved to Sutherland I decided to try out our new local pub. I ate dinner here last Saturday night with my sister and two other friends. Greatly impressed with what we experienced. I shared the Lamb shanks with my sister and our friends had the fish (snapper) and a risotto dish. All meals were great and we ended up tasting each-others meals. The restaurant and the bars were very busy, there was even a lady playing classical music on a harp in the dining room, that was a nice unexpected touch. I was told by their helpful staff that the harp was something new and that there would be other musicians, in the future, playing violins and flutes. I could not fault the hotel, it was clean, staff were friendly and efficient, décor is comforting and the hotel appears to be tastefully decorated. I also found out that this is a family run hotel who have been here since 1977, I guess that reflects on how things are run and how customers are looked after, you really feel at home here. I will be back.

Hi had a bruschetta tonight from the bistro and it was really small compared to to the last time I ordered it . Tonight's bruschetta was on three tiny pieces of what looked like French roll sliced on an angle to make the slices appear bigger and red onion was diced small and the bread was cold . The first time I ordered it it was on two big pieces of bread with lots of tomatoes and long thin slices of onion was much better the first time most of the staff are great

Small pub with awesome food. Meals and drinks are priced well, and staff are friendly.

Only ever had one issue with a bouncer who didn't refused me entry for intoxication, then allowed me entry but I was only allowed one beer, then got upset when I had two beers with a meal and kicked me out. Point is that I had had three beers prior to arriving so not intoxicated and if I was I shouldn't have been allowed in anyway cos it's illegal.

But five stars cos we haven't seen that bouncer again!
