I'm giving the Dunkirk 1 star because I don't want all the punters who don't read a reason to come and spoil my favourite Sydney spot.
The food is great and the specials make the best value tastiest meals in Australia (minus Tassie 😀)
Service is brisk but always friendly.
I deliberately stay in this area when I visit Sydney so that I can eat at the Dunkirk pretty much everyday.response / report this review -

Well kept beer, $4.50 happy hours! (4-6) some rotation on the guest beer tap. (Montieth's and German sections regular shows)
Friendly staff, very tollerant of the kids! Upstairs (front) usually empty where they can move around a bit. Some toys provided for the younger ones.
Table tennis out the back.

The Hotel is located within walking distance of all darling harbour attractions and the business functions I had to attend. They offered great discounts on undercover secure parking 1 block away. The Hotel had a lot of charm and the meal I had there was well priced good quality and filling. They have a special every day. The room itself was OK but needed some repairs in all areas.A simple Breakfast was included and was very welcome and filling. The ceiling fan was not working but a pedestal fan was provided which cooled me down just fine in an otherwise hot room. I could open the window but the kitchen extractor fan was just outside which was a little loud and smelly. TV was fine as was kitchenette. Bed was very comfortable. A working extractor fan in the bathroom would have been a good idea. The staff member checked me in to my room personally and 2 keys gave me 24 hour access. There is a lot of charm in the hotel and the location is very good. For the price I think a slightly higher level of finish in the room is warranted but it was very clean. There were 2 outside terrace areas upstairs for the smokers but again a little loud due to the kitchen extractor fans. I did enjoy my stay, only my second ever stay in a pub it was kinda fun in a historic area of Sydney.

Had an event here for Melbourne cup with a large group. Food and drinks were great, a really nice atmosphere here. Great balcony in the function space too!

Good standard pub fare food with nice atmosphere and great weekly specials. Will definately be back to try more on the menu and especially for a beer included with lunch!

Nice to have one old school pub that hasn't been turned into an upscale, overpriced wine bar. The food is petty good here, especially the Sunday roast. Plenty of areas to go, either in the main bar or a quieter area to enjoy dinner.

What a fantastic pub in the heart of Pyrmont. Stopped in for a drink and a meal with my wife and it was awesome. . The service was amazing and the food was very nice especially with the reasonable proces charged. Also the pub is nice and clean with a very relaxing atmosphere.
