Not a beautiful environment to celebrate what you care for, only costumers in the whole place and not table service, not enough costumer service for the price. Lots of things to improve.

Went there for a girls day out. I love my espresso martinis but these were probably the worst I have ever tasted. $18 for an espresso poured from a tap, not even shaken. They were like drinking a bag of sugar. Also promotes happy hour cocktails on website with 8 different ones and then when we get there, there is only 3 to select from due to Covid we were told. What has Covid got to do with cocktails available, they are available outside of happy hour. Not impressed, had been there before and loved it but has seriously gone down in standards and totally using Covid as an excuse. Wont be going back in a hurry

Blackbird is a lovely place to hangout with your family or friends. They have limited food options on their menu but the food is fresh and good. The best is their 3-6pm happy hour which has an assortment of great alcohol. The decoration of the place is amazing, special shout out to the photo booth 😍

The ribs was almost cooked well, unfortunately it they went beyond char, into charcoal territory.
The pork belly was done well, tender and juicy.
Chips were fried well, fluffy center crisp exterior.

Waited 30mins for someone to take our order, so we asked a waitress that walked past our table. She said she will come back in a sec, but she never did. We ended up leaving without any food and an hour of our time wasted.

Dinner was alright, food came out fairly quick. The risotto was very salty and the fettuccine was dry. The salad was well balanced though. Chips came out barely warmbut were crunchy.

The Blackbird is a lovely eatery in Cockle Bay. The food is delicious with an extensive and varied menu. The staff provide friendly, helpful and efficient customer service. It's lovely to sit at window table enjoying your meal with a glass of wine watching the people go by. Always an enjoyable experience.

If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. This place is not worth going to. Horrible service, took nearly 20-30 minutes for someone to pay attention to us (table of 8) for a particularly uncrowded afternoon and take our order. Next, the bottle of water they served for the table had a mixture of SUGAR SYRUP in it. The damned water tasted so sweet.
I ordered a beer, it never came. When I spoke to the manager, he said that they didn't have that specific beer (that's available in most places in Sydney) -- but the waitress never came back to me and told me. I sat there eating my (absolutely horrible) food waiting for my beer, only to stand up and speak to the manager and find out that they didn't even have it. No offer was made for another choice.
One waiter came to the table and asked "who ordered 'the meat'?" I said "what? What do you mean? He looked at me with a blank face and said "the meat." -- I asked him if he knew what the dish he was bringing was, he said "no, they (his colleague) just told me to bring it to this table." I mean, how does this even happen? Their waitstaff looked confused and untrained.
Poor service. Horrible, overpriced food. Poor execution and follow through. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Never coming back.

We went on a busy Sunday during the Vivid festival and also on a public holiday weekend. We booked a table online and selected the special menu that was offered to us. When we turned up our waitress knew nothing of the menu, this wasn't a great start. The food was good but service terrible. A few staff for whom English wasn't their first language and whilst they were nice enough, they were clearly struggling with the busy service that night. I had to remind them twice about the beer that I ordered and eventually ended up with 2! A senior appearing staff member apologised and said it would be taken off the bill however this didn't happen when it came to time to pay, and we had to remind him. The man who took our money was borderline rude ('it's a very busy night, mistakes are going to happen' and 'of course this is the correct amount, I took the beer off the bill! ' when I had the audacity to check that it was correct this time around). Oh and they charged a public holiday surcharge even though it wasn't a public holiday.
We were thinking of taking some guests there in a few weeks but that won't be happening now. There are plenty of other places to eat in Darling Harbour where you will get better service.response / report this review -

Disappointing dining experience. None of the 4 of us had food better than "just okay." Service was very slow (they need more people working when it's busy). Sea gulls were dive-bombing us because they can't clear the empty tables next to us quickly enough after people leave. Pricing was high was well. We will not be back here.

If you want a nice restaurant with nice food and atmosphere to chat with friends, then this is a terrible place for dinner on a Saturday night.
Imagine a night club with a DJ blasting loud music from huge speakers mounted to the ceilings. Now on the dance floor, add tables and chairs so that you can barely squeeze through. This is what Blackbird is. After dinner, I went home with a rusty throat from shouting at my friends and ringing ears from all the noise.
Food wise, it was fairly average. The $35 buffet (which isn't really a buffet by the way) was a few servings of un-memorable pizza, pasta and salads.
Their cocktails (can't remember the name of it) tasted like lemonade and some diluted vodka. The bartenders at the bar looked overly worked and stressed. Just a fairly negative vibe and poorly laid out venue overall.response / report this review -

I went there with my mother on a rather rainy day, so it was quite empty. We got offered a lovely table with a view, and we even saw some birds perched on the railing, which we assume, are blackbirds. Previous reviews stated that the music was too loud, however I didn't find it loud at all. The music was quite nice, actually. It took a while to get the waiter's attention.
I had a banana smoothie, which tasted absolutely marvellous. My mother ordered a steak which got served with a side of mash. Presentation didn't look appealing, however the taste was good. It came with house wine, which was lovely.
I had a seafood platter, which was very tasty. The chips were crunchy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside. The prawns were juicy and tender. The calamari was amazing and so was the fish. It was simply so much that I could not finish, and we walked out with our bellies full full, and a smile on our face.
We were told of this place by a friend, who said this place was absolutely beautiful. Would recommend!response / report this review
