  Small, independent bookstore with an eclectic and thoughtful variety of fiction and nonfiction books. Customer service is top notch, very warm and welcoming staff. Could spend hours browsing this wonderful collection. Already itching to return. A bibliophile’s paradise!

  I have been visiting this book shop over the last year or so, always making sure to pop in whenever I’m in Sydney. Rest assured you’ll never leave empty handed. Will has always seen to it that I leave with a book in my hand, and a smile on my face. In a busy part of the city, Oscar and Friends offers tranquility. A reflection of a knowledgeable owner glowing with a calm and accomodating presence. Can’t recommend enough.
  Looking forward to my next visit !

  Lovely book store, they were about to close when I visited but the gentleman at the counter was nice and friendly & happily allowed me to visit the store.

  This is one of my favorite independent bookstores in the neighborhood. It has such strong character, which is reflected by the design, the staff, and the book selection. I always come here to browse their cookbook shelves, which are filled with incredible vegan and vegetarian cookbooks I’ve never seen in stores before. By local, and support independent bookstores!

  This little book shop packs in such great books and such a diverse range for a little shop. The staff are always helpful. I threw a very quirky question at them and the helped out more than I could have wanted. Always great to see people still so passionate about books. It is a definite place to visit to get a great novel, kids book, non fiction or even a great little nic nak. Keep.up the good work

  A wonderful bookstore with friendly and helpful staff members who are always willing to offer suggestions for interesting new reads. They carry a great selection of books as well as a lovely range of gift cards. I rarely leave empty handed. One of my favourite stores in Surry Hills!

  Went into the lovely and cosy bookshop today, but I wasn't even welcomed once nor looked at. I find this extremely disrespectful as I like people to at least look at me when I go into a store. As soon as I picked up a book I was then approached by a staff member who had a sudden interest and began to persuade me to buy it. I find this very rude and this bookshop is as stuck up as its area. Rude staff who couldn't care less about you unless you unless you're dressed head to toe in Chanel, Alexander McQueen or covered in Tiffany and Co or Swarovski diamonds. If you want to be treated like your an alien that is too weird to look at then go to this bookshop.
