The hotel was a bit run down, and the room supplied while adequate and comfortable, was minimal in any accessories or condiments. The room it's self a touch old and shabby. Gaff tape holding the air con return inplace, a light fixture etc. The shower seemed fluctuate between hot and cold every 20 to 30 seconds, no soap supplied and shampoo/conditioner a single source on the wall (very glad I took my own) the meal that I had in their restaurant, a breakfast was not good, scramble eggs very runny, hash brown tasted of old oil, and bacon not good so not worth the effort of getting up. I ate elsewhere from then on. The staff OK but a touch short and not as helpful as expected but not rude perhaps a touch controlling although I had no personal issue with any and they were polite enough. Just an observation with others. All up it should be a 3 star not a 4 star hotel
Tired and in need a lot of work, required a $200 “bond” and then told us we could not charge things to the room!! Staff were pleasant, felt a bit sorry for them to be honest! Placed on a floor full of a coach party who wike is us at 2am shouting and screaming in the corridors! I would swerve this hotel if you can.
A nice room with a huge king sized bed, however the parking fee is $13 and the internet is extra charged. the bathroom is a bit old and the kettle is very old and cheap quality. please note that most hotels in Australia don't supply toothpaste and toothbrush.
Went for a seminar. Overall looks feels slightly dated but everything was neat and clear. Nothing to complain about!
Lovely helpful staff but hotel a bit tatty. Good job it was a reasonable rate per night.
Clean, basic accommodations. This is an old hotel with a beautiful lobby and bar facilities but the rooms have seen better days. The furniture is worn with holes in it, the beds are like slabs and there's very few power points available for charging. There is parking around the corner and you aren't far from Albert Park or St Kilda Road
Great location for the event we were attending. A bit dated and needs upgrading. Bed was great room was clean.
For the price, I give it the four star rating. The rooms are pretty worn and definitely have the 90s feel to them. This would have been a premier hotel in 1995. It just needs a bit of updating. There is definite signs of patchwork in most places. That being said the staff was excellent. Very helpful and upbeat. The rooms were not dirty (just worn). The food on site was pretty good as well. For the price I would definitely stay here again.
Do yourself a favor and book a different hotel! The hotel is old with poor patchwork on the ceiling of the dark and gloomy rooms.
Took staff 45 minutes and another telephone call to bring up hand soap to the room which was requested as it was not provided in the first place. Beds feel as though they are made of brick.
Maintenance, including the use of hammers and power drills began at 9am this morning and has continued until 1pm. I don't know if it well ever stop but holes are being drilled into the walls connected to my room and not even a courtesy call was provided to inform me. This is not at all the relaxation, peace or quiet which hotels are suppose to provide.
I had booked for three nights and unfortunately decided to go for a cheaper option which meant that it was not refundable! If it was I would have checked out after the 1st night. The worst hotel experience I have ever had.
We stay here almost yearly and always enjoy our stay. Clean rooms, quiet stay. They have introduced a lot more fees now including parking fees, credit card fees & room service fees which is disappointing
Fantastic location for the night away. Had a fantastic view of Albert park lake. Great service. Friendly staff.

I was joining my friend on her travels and was kind of excited as I'm a good old backpacker so it was going to be my first hotel experience. The rooms are dark with the filthy air condition but they are decent size. The hotel decor is very outdated apart from the area near the main lobby. The wifi doesn't work unless you are in the downstairs lobby which is usually full with loudly speaking customers. The room we stayed in was noisy as the hotel is located right next to very busy road. It takes around 30 minutes to get to the city centre.
Well below average this hotel. They certainly are a a no frills hotel. Our room was nice enough - clean and tidy - fine. However we roasted. the air conditioning simply doesn't work. We couldn't take it below the preset of 22 degrees and it was warm - it was cooler in the foyer. It was a very uncomfortable stay and we will not return. When we checked out - we weren't even asked how our stay was. Disappointed.
Great staff, very friendly and helpful. The lobby is very impressive, however the lifts and hallways were a bit of a let down as they looked old and drab. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed but didn't quite live up to the look of the lobby also. If the rest of the building was to the same look as the lobby that would be better. The buffet breakfast was great also.
