I traveled to Vienna with a group of 3 other girls, and we got a 4-bed room to share at the hostel, which was perfect for us. The room was comfortable and practical, with its own bathroom and set of lockers, but wasn't particularly luxurious. The hostel was sometimes loud at night and in the morning (though on our first day, we slept through the time when others were checking out), but very clean, with welcoming common spaces, a nice bar, and a really excellent breakfast for just 4,50€. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, and willing to speak English with us, but also happy to let us practice our German. For just 21€/night, we were very satisfied with our experience at Wombats - The Lounge, and would stay here again!

Good place to experience hostel world. Removed all doubts of being in a hostel. Good ambience. Good staff. Very clean and well maintained. Does not make you feel claustrophobic. Shared with 2 others in a mixed dorm - nothing to complaint.

The hostel is located near the bus, tram and metro stops which make you reach the main Vienna points of interest in a few minutes.
As far as I could see, the Hostel's Staff is young, friendly, motivated and really helpful.
The six-bed dormitory room is spacious and includes a private bathroom. Moreover, this room is furnished with some private lockers (one for each guest), a table and some chairs. And the beds of course :)
Cleanliness was a constant all along the whole structure.
The breakfast option (in the formula "eat as much as you want") is good and the price is proportional to the variety of food offered (coffe machine, milk, cereals, yogurt, cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, chocolate cream, jams and two or three types of bread). If you do not choose to have breakfast prepared for you, there is a kitchen for the guests which is open at any time (breakfast, launch, dinner, midnight meal and so on).
There is also a pub where you can have something to drink, play with different kind of games (billiard, table soccer, etc) which make it the perfect spot to get to know the other guests.
Finally, I would like to thank the Staff and the people I met during this weekend, they really enhanced this short stay. Definitely it was one of my best Hostel experiences!response / report this review -

A really nice place for a short stay. I was here in Vienna for one night and the location was really good for my transit from the main train station to the airport. The staff is friendly and really helpful and also available whenever you need something. The room was clean and so also the restroom. The bar was a fun place to hangout with many fellow travellers to meet. The menu was good with reasonably priced drinks. I left before the breakfast so i don't know what that's like. But for my stay of a few hours at wombats i really liked the experience and would definitely go back. Recommend!

Really cool lounge and atmosphere. Staff was super friendly, which was great after no sleep on an overnight bus. Good sized room w/locker. The walking tour they offer was disappointing though. Overall it was a good enough experience that I chose Wombat Hostels in Berlin when I stayed there.

Great hostel, good vibe very clean rooms and in general. Staff where very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is €4.50 and it's great value I feel. This place would have been 5 stars but the only down fall was we stayed in the middle of summer and the room was so hot and it had no A/C just a little fan that didn't do much.

A friend of mine and I stayed here for 2 nights. I've already been to Wombat's Naschmarkt and when booking a hostel this time, I wanted Wombat's again since I knew how great it is. This locations is lovely, too! It's so cozy and it has all the things you need.

The staff is great and very helpful. The hostel's kept clean and nice. I had to experience the Wifi being terrible though. Disconnecting all the time and being slow. My room was hotter at night than during the day, which I found weird. However hot days = hot rooms even if we had windows open and a good fan. Big, comfy dining and chilling areas. Loved the security system for the lockers and rooms. Good value for money overall.

Worn out feel and not very well laid out. For example 1 bathroom for 8 people where the vent fans don't work well makes for a very sticky humid room come morning shower time. The staff were all very nice though.

Overall my experience was nice 😊
Staff was friendly and helpful. There were just two things which went wrong.
1)we were informed at the reception about the free tour from wombat other hostel but there was none.
2) The music in the bar was just not right.. there were some bunch of school passed out "kids" (I suppose) playing there own music, that was a turn off and we went to our room disappointed.
Other than that everything was super nice. Would love to come here again, but please please dont allow anybody to play musik. I remember sitting in the kitchen and listening to this super nice music coming from the bar. But those kids destroyed it.

This hostel is farther from the areas I frequently needed to visit. In spite of that, the 3 essential things that make Wombats good is there was no free desktop with internet to use, a basement bar, and the train and tram stops were in close proximity. Otherwise I wouldn't have liked this place at all. The downstairs bar sets this hostel apart, compared to other hostels I stayed in within Europe. It was a great place to meet and socialize with others. The kitchen is also a good place to foster conversations. The hostel has the basics I need. I liked that there was a washer and dryer and you had the option to use either one. Used the washer only. I also liked that there was an activity going on once a day. The size of the breakfast area and common area is pretty good. I like that there is a mall and 2 grocery shops next door.

It's the perfect Hostel since there is everything you need! I could even check in at 8 a.m. because my room was already clean! Then downstairs there is a great pub: the perfect place to meet and socialize with other guests! They even organize some games! The only not perfect thing is the slow wifi, but except for this, I loved this hostel!

The hostel is situated in good area near Underground, Train and Tram. However it is not so loud place - you can sleep well and you are not disturbed by the city life at night.
The price was also great! For this price I was totaly satisfied! Clean, quite small but comfortable.
