Our 6 night stay at Zulu Nyala was an unforgettable experience in all the right ways. Service was excellent where all the staff were very accommodating.
Our guide Musa is someone I will not forget. We had great trips throughout the reserve.
Accommodation is nice. Not much to do at the actual lodge. The food was okay, not amazingly delicious considering you are paying R150 per head. And it's tailored to international visitors, so everything quite pricey (incl drinks) and as South Africans you get ignored/forgotten about. But otherwise it's still a nice spot to stay and bonus is Hluhluwe game reserve being so close!
Had a wonderful Honeymoon. friendly staff, good good, lots of activities to choose from. Game Drive and Heritage village is a must.
Rooms are very cosy. We chose to change from one of the more upmarket rooms to one of the tents. Just a pity the surroundings have become a little too commercialised. Would be perfect as tents set amongst the bush and trees.
Phenomenal experience for our first time in Africa. Plenty of animal viewing on the twice daily safaris. Be ready to get up at 5am most mornings. Room was large, beds and pillows very comfortable, shower was tiny and needed updating. Door lock archaic skeleton key in our unit. Was told we we're getting 500ml bottled water daily, but it was actually 1.5L, too big to carry around, so hang on to smaller bottles to refill. Food was buffet style, definitely not gourmet but acceptable, if you don't mind lukewarm everything. No ice unless you ask for it. Drinks(both soft and hard) were really cheap, as is food in general in South Africa. Excursions were reasonable and worth going on. If you get a chance to bid on one of their trips at a charity function please go for it
Zulu Nyala was amazing!! It was definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity to come and spend time here. The rangers are incredibly well versed and patient with all types of questions!
Construction created noise atmosphere. Toilet seat was rotting. Ants at toilet area. Entry door drags on stone at entry.
Front desk personnel very pleasant and accommodating.
Guides very knowledgeable.
Tent accommodations are luxurious. Food is buffet style with good selection and variety. Game rides have been quite good.
Just returned from Safari! Strength is their people really friendly and knowledgeable. The room was large and clean. We stayed in a room in front of a crocodile pen and views off into the distance. There are also more "tent-like" units. Pools were nice but it was winter. Food was plentiful and varied, but meats are a lot tougher than back home! Day trips to ocean at St. Lucia. They didn't get 5 stars due to weak wifi at the hotel and forgetting airport transfers for us and others. Just want you to be aware!
I ennoyed the food.
Didn't like the lack of TV services
Friendly, easy going staff. Awesome food. Lovely bush setting.
Very accommodating and friendly. warm and home Away From home feeling all good n clean facilities daily clean n fresh towels provided.❤❤
A beautiful place to stay and friendly staff! A must visit if you're in Kwazulu-Natal or just want a beautiful African Safari Adventure :)
