Zero stars. Thieves, had to cancel my credit card to stop unauthorized debits from them. Still waiting for deposit return, which is supposed to be allocated, but not taken from yiyr CC account. How they are in business, and that the Directors are not behind bars is beyond me. Avoid at all costs.

THIEVES. Unethical. Literally THE WORST customer service on the PLANET. We were charged over 13000 rand for a chip in the windscreen. Provided ZERO invoice. Hung up on by customer service. How is this company still in business???Completely unethical business practices. Absolutely disgusted. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!! Making a huge mistake if you do.

I bought vehicle insurance through Travelstart, and apparently they could not pick it up so I had to get it again. Since I returned the vehicle they called me twice to find out when will I return the car. There where also several warning lights illuminating when driving.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never written a review for any place before, but I was so disgusted at Woodford's horrific customer service that I felt obligated to warn others against them. We came to Cape Town with our 2 young children, and after multiple calls to Woodford in advance of our arrival to explain that we needed car seats for a 3 month old and a 2 year old, we were assured that they had appropriate seats available to us. My husband picked up the car, and noticed that the car seats provided were not actually attached to anything in the car. They were meant for isofix bases, but the isofix bases were not provided - i.e. the car seats were just loose in the car, with no way of attaching them, even by seat belt! So dangerous! He then spent the next 2 hours arguing with Woodford, who acknowledged that the lack of isofix bases made the car seats completely useless but did not even apologise for this completely dangerous error. They then finally gave us another car seat for our 2 year old that was fine, but the only other one available for our 3 month old infant was completely inappropriate for her age, and again, DANGEROUS, for such a young child. Woodford's staff told us that this was the only car seat that they had, as if somehow that was our problem, even though we had called them multiple times in advance of the trip and they assured us over and over again that a car seat appropriate for a 3 month old would be made available. We had to go buy our own infant car seat, and then when I called Woodford to get them to return the money that they had already charged us for the rental car seat we refused to put our daughter in, they told me that it was my responsibility to return the car seat to the airport before they would even consider refunding us. I was so appalled by the very rude and completely dismissive staff, and asked to speak to a manager. I was told repeatedly that I couldn't speak to him, without any explanation! Finally one person said that the manager would call me back, but of course, he never did. It's no wonder that this car rental company makes you pay in full before even seeing the car - they intend to rip you off from the get go! Appalling costumer service, dangerous car seats and an awful experience. Never rent from Woodford, especially if you have children!

The service and vehicles hired were fantastic. BUT.They have been very Slow to return my R4000.00 Deposit - I was promised that my R4000.00 deposit would be returned by Tuesday the 18th July and by 20 July it has not been returned. I have attepted 9 times to contact them telephonically and they seem to be ignoring my calls. I would appretiate it if someone could explain to me "Why the delay??"

Experience is excellent but the deposit release is a nightmare. I use them every time I am in Cape Town on business. Twice I waited over 7 days for my deposit to be released on my accounts. Now after I was assured it takes 24 hours again they apologise and now it will happen during banking hours. Weekdays apparently they can only release deposits. What I don't understand is, seconds to hold the funds, days to release it. If this is a banking issue then I think it is very unethical business though.

We have had an additional unauthorised charge to our account to the amount of R4000!!! Woodford refuse to respond to any emails. Abu who is supposed to be the supervisor advised it was for the late return of the vehicle. R4000 for a 2 hour late return?? We called and requested a late return on the day as we had to pick up another vehicle from a Budget that same day. Upon calling Woodford he put the phone down in my ear. Absolutely pathetic company - be very aware!!!!
