A completely well rounded outing venue, restaurant (Hudson's Burger Joint), wine tastings, animals and kids play area with ample parking and beautiful scenery.. could not get any better! There is a fantastic Animal farm with cows and goats and horses. The the famous wild cat park with Lions, Tigers and a Leopard!! It is honestly one of the most exciting places I have ever been to. Gin tastings available and even a classic car garage to wander around. Feeding times for the Wild Cats are at 11am and again at 3pm, which includes an informative history and tour of each Wild Cat. Only 40minutes from Cape Town city centre, and a 15minute drive from Cape Town International Airport, just off the N2 on Baden Powell Drive. Don't forget to check out Zetler's farm stall and filling station just before you get to Vredenheim!! Absolutely gorgeous home made Venison pies as well as other goodies, among them are R20 bottles of wine!!!

Perfect place to have a lovely meal, especially when you have children. Lovely lawn and play area for the kids. Well priced menu as well and the food is great. Service could be a little faster but overall a lovely morning spent here. Would be great if the children's "petting zoo" was more interactive, as an example if they could hold the bunnies.

Perfect place to take the family. The Cat Park is always interesting and educational for the kids, and with the large grounds and jungle gym the little critters are bound to stay entertainedwhile the adults can chillax at the restaurant keeping an eye on them.

Quick service, good food, made adjustments to my order as requested. They have a beautiful property with lots to offer, walk through and enjoy the scenery or watch a lion feeding, just check the times so you don't miss it.

Lovely venue for a peaceful and relaxed brunch/lunch picnic. The farm has some great views and the Hudson's where my partner and I had our picnic was nice.

I was however disappointed by the lack of attention that we received. A week before I had made the booking to celebrate my partner's birthday. I asked for a complimenting wine to accommodate the picnic basket. Upon arrival the individual I had been in communication with from the Hudson's had been less helpful and accommodating as he was via email.

When asked about which wine would be best, Matthew simply responded that it was the first he was hearing of my request. I wanted to make this special for my partner and it fell a little flat. As it was our first time on the wine farm, it felt as though we were not welcome to be in that space.
I do wish to acknowledge that one waitress was kind enough to usher us out into the garden and offer her assistance should we require it.

Although the establishment is lovely, it would be such an amazing experience if all members of staff paid attention to detail and address guests with respect and genuine interest. It is completely understandable that we are all human and some days we may not give our best - it is still important to acknowledge that working in a service providing industry where quality is essential, those who walk through your doors (regardless of who they are) wish to experience the same quality the establishment alludes to in its views, decor, overall aesthetic etc.

More than that, the picnic basket was really worth it, the Sauvignon Blanc is absolutely stunning!!!

Vredenheim is a lovely place with very friendly and competent staff. A must for any and all cat lovers as there are lions cheetahs and tigers to view as well as very informative feeding sessions. Really a beautiful place to visit.

The wine tasting was only available inside while the weather was beautiful and we would have rather sat outside. The wine was not as good as on other wineries in the region. They were short on people because the person serving our wine did not know anything about the wine but the name.
The cat park was okay, the guide tells a lot about the animals and why they do certains things the way they do it. The cats looked alright, however their cages were a bit sad. Not much for them to do and quite bare overall. Luckily most cats were with two in one cage for some interaction.

It was really nice that they provide shelter for these rescued cats, but it just did not feel completely right, even though they would not survive in the wild.

Stunning place, great for families. Lost a star because of straw papers, napkins lying around and odd pieces of food on the floor but can't fault it otherwise. Food is top notch

Service was below standard, no wine recommendations at Hudsons Restaurant. Wine arrived opened and was not poured. Olive oil and tomato sauce arrive in plastic canteen bottles. Much better wine farms out there!
