Simonsig is on your way to Stellenbosch, right before you get to the Knorhoek region. They are known for the Champaign, I mean "Sparkling" that dates back to the late 1960s. With a wide range of red and whites to choose from, makes sure to start with the sparkling as this is what they are known for and worth the price.

Great place. Friendly service. Disappointing tasting. Presenter to busy with other tables. No conversation about wine.

Arrived at the Wine Estate and was greeted with a smile. Had the most awesome day there. The guy who helped us were professional and friendly. He also explained each wine every time. I would really go there again and again.

What a great place. Very generous with the amounts of wine during the tasting. Great staff with a lot of knowledge. Lovely wines. Very rich in flavor, more like the traditional french wines, so it must be your thing.

Great food and wine, the 'Kaapse Vonkel', which is sparkling wine, is fantastic!

Nice wine. Not my favorites but they have a very large selection that you can choose from. Beautiful view but the steak for lunch was absolutely fantastic. My knife just fell through the meat it was so tender.

Incredibly beautiful scenery, superb Kaapse vonkel sparkling wine and the burger they serve elevates burgers to a new level (Its even better than the steak!)

R 50 per tasting for 6 wines. Generous pouring, but unfortunately the quality/taste didn't convince me. What a shame.

Best shiraz (Mr Borio's) and best Bordeaux style blend (Tiara) that you can't get enough of. Friendly and welcoming staff, and a good restaurant.

Don't miss a visit to Simonsig vineyards @simonsigwines if you are passing through Stellenborch, both the cellar tour and the tastings are excellent and if you have time stay for a bite at the Curvee restaurant, the burger is great! Tumi @itumiller_wines did both the tour and the tasting, and it can thoroughly recommend it, excellent knowledge from grapes to finished wine. Excellent experience on all fronts.

Restaurant superb. But why pay is wine at the estate more expensive than in Woolies in Gauteng? That is a rip off in my book.

Without a doubt this is my best lunch stop along the Stellenbosch wine route. Elegant. Cool in Summer. Warm in Winter. Best food. My favourite lunchtime dish is the sausage on a skewerWith polenta and a tomato chutney in the winter and a couscous salad in the summer. Add a beautiful glass of their wine and an espresso and get out for around R120 bucks

I enjoyed the experience and the wine having visited there again recently. The actual wine estate has changed tremendously over the years and it is now a beautiful place to visit. Having a great restaurant on the estate has made the place stand out, but I find the wine tasting experience somewhat commercialized. Maybe because it has become so busy that I would recommend a time when they are less busy to get a better experience.
