They serve a very tasty English breakfast and the cappuccino is fantastic. I wouldn’t bother with the baked goods, the muffins we had were dry and tasteless. The view is quite pretty.

Had the Fish & Chips Special tonight. It was so good! And the best is, I can order grilled fish with a delicious salad for a guilt free meal. Delicious!

    It's an alright place.
Beautiful location, easy access to the beach.

The food is decent, it wasn't too special but it was nice. The food was a little pricey however and lacked smaller lunch options under R100. I would've liked something that can fill me up for under R100 but that's just me.

I'm not entirely sure if I went to the right toilet but the one I did go to was in bad condition.

The service was not bad and I don't think we had any trouble on that front.

Overall an okay experience, nothing special really.

2nd time we have been there and not impressed at all with the service and the food. They have a great location and venue on the beach which they rely on and forget about the quality of service and food.
We are locals and I wouldn't recommend it as somewhere to eat. The beach is great.

Milkwood is a really cosy restuarant overlooking Onrus beach and the lagoon. The food is really decent (try the Mince Waffle for breakfast!). There are two levels which you can be seated on, and it is a great place to just enjoy a peaceful meal and a drink.

The sea food platter for two , not so special.

Prawns are over cooked and fluffy .
Hake batter is soft and pasty under crust.
Fish balls has very strong after taste.
    Centre salad is dry.
Calamari rings are stringy and fishy.
Muscles are bland with a watery sauce, no viscosity.

    Calamari strips are good.
    Hot chips are great.
    Staff friendly .
    View is lovely.

We enjoyed a seafood platter to share which was delicious!
The view over the ocean was perfect while the waiter was attentive and courteous.
    Altogether a wonderful experience 💛

What a lovely restaurant, all the food we had was excellent! Had the most wonderful carrot cake for dessert. I had the most month watering fish dish and wife had a delicious home made burger. Can definitely recommend them!

The fish and chips was excellent, with a rich and filling batter. The chili poppers were also a hit at our table, as was the coffee. They stopped serving breakfast at 11.30 on a Sunday which was really early. The lunch specials seemed reasonably priced (a curry for less than R100 for example) but felt too heavy for so early on a weekend morning. Nice, relaxed ambiance and friendly service.

The Milkwood is one of a kind in South Africa. It is the perfect mixture of clean, comfortable, cosy, and affordable while still providing an up-scale experience. The food is just delicious and rivals any fancy restaurant, but somehow manages not to seem pretentious. The location overlooking Onrus Beach is breath-taking. The servers and managers are lovely and a pleasure to deal with. As a vegetarian, I have found very few places in my 10 years in SA which give me so many options. We hosted an event here and the guests raved about the experience.

Great view, served with burnt coffee. We are locals and now avoid this place. Best coffee is served 20m away by the ice cream van. You would imagine that the owners of the restaurant would be proud of their restaurant. We ordered simple fish and chips, which never arrived so we were left to imagine for ourselves and left. We informed the staff, but they don't seem to mind. Its not the first time

Friendly staff and an excellent setting on a very nice beach. It is situated adjacent the lagoon with a stunning view. The food is very tasteful, fresh and well prepared. The only negative was the waiter not informing us of what items on the menu were not available until we endeavored to order such. The beach shack downstairs, closer to the lagoon is also worth a visit for a drink or a bite to eat after a beach excursion.

I always wanted to try this hidden restaurant in Onrus. The welcome was very friendly and the staff went out of their way to make it comfortable and hospitable. The menu has something for everyone and I choose the Soup of the Day. It was hearty and homemade. The flavours blended well. The freshly baked bread was a pleasant surprise in quality, taste and presentation. The butter served with a butter paper cover was 5 star. My main meal was Battered Hake with chops and salad. The presentation was once again excellent. The salad had a very tasty creamy sauce which worked well with the fresh greens. The chips was well cooked as well as the fish. I noticed that most people enjoyed their dishes as they were telling their partners quite loudly so. The wine list is well balanced with some of the best local wines and beer featuring. The dessert menu was extremely tempting offering a wide selection of freshly baked cakes, slices, and desserts. The Red Cappuccino was excellent at the end of the meal. Art lovers can buy some art work on display all in the range of R1000+. They also serve the best local beer - a lager The Old Harbour Beer.
