The atmosphere at this restaurant is very cozy. From the moment we walked in, we felt quite relaxed. The owner greeted us very pleasantly and we felt quite welcome.
We were apparently very lucky to have arrived when we did - as soon as we sat down, they put a 'Fully Booked' sign on the door. Definitely call ahead if you want a table for dinner here.
The food was good, but nothing to write home about. The wine was very good and overall the evening was pleasant.
However, the prices are quite high - clearly geared towards the tourists that pass through Graskop. So, if you aren't in the mood to spend approx. R150 per meal, look around for alternatives.
You can visit for yourself and enjoy the warm hospitality and cozy atmosphere at 'The Glass House.'response / report this review -

Food & wine is excellent, place and decor 100%, host Abe is an excitable, bubbly old man always welcoming his guest.

The best food we have had so far in South Africa, and we have been eating out twice a day at different restaurants all over for more than two weeks now.
It was also the most quiet restaurant even though if was full. This is a big plus for me because I like to be able to talk to my company without screaming.
And their music playlist is awesome!
Best milkshake I have had so far in SA and so far I have tried like 15 different places ðŸ¤

Great food and friendly waiter despite the fact that she's alone she handled things very wellwe were booked for dinner from the agent and when we arrived the owner couldn't find our booking and asked to come back in 30 mn later we had a place to seat at the end we were not disappointed with the food and the service despite the restaurant being too smallthe glass house is located in graskop on the Main Street Louis Trihard .

3 couples were on a bike trip staying over in Graskop. And wanted to dine at the Glasshouse Restaurant, when we arrived to book a table for 6 we were told without any hesitation sorry but were are fully booked, well there were 2 tables taken. We got the idea that we were not welcome, dressed in riding gear, maybe the owner does not want "bikers" in his restaurant? Well ok we dined somewhere else. Passing the restaurant on 3 occasions in 2 hours there were never a moment that the restaurant were even half full.and my conclusion is that The Glasshouse judges its clientele and honestly I can't recommend this place to any one passing trough Graskop.

It was such a warm and wonderful restaurant, where a couple can just lose themselves in the atmosphere.. The service is superb and the food is magnificent.

As South Africans the decor wasn't the charm. However they had excellent food and the Hawaiian Crumbed pork cutletand the lamb vindaloo was really yumm!
