Hotel itself very nice but I had a bad experience. First we booked a double and got twin beds in room, but I let it go without complaint. However, I was most upset that I set up a room charge account on checking in. But the next day when I tried to charge something to my room I was told I had no credit and had to pay separate. I found this to be embarrassing and I had to sort the issue out with reception myself. My comment is do not set up an account and do not use there restaurants or bar.

The room is nicely decorated with all the neccessary tech. Large comfortable beds. There is a balcony outside which overlooks the pool. The staff are friendly and helpful. Room service is fast . The hotel is close to the waterfront which you can walk to. The red bus, aquarium and shops are close by. An enjoyable stay.

5 minutes from the waterfront. Clean, helpful staff. Nice patio with outdoor dining. Views OK if you're facing the back patio it's nice. Some face the mountains but street cab be noisy if you're a light sleeper

Rooms not that great. 1st hotel in my life where you have to pat each time for room service instead of signing for it. Restaurant was great and service excellent.

Decided to stay here with my teenage daughter due to the close proximity to V&A Waterfront and Greenpoint Stadium where music concert took place that we attended. Clean, comfortable room (unfortunately our 5th floor room looked out over the courtyard and I specifically requested a harbour-facing room - the courtyard rooms all face each other and not very private as one can see into the other rooms). Good value for money, though and friendly staff.

I chose to stay at the Commodore primarily because of its proximity to the V&A waterfront, a parameter regarding which I was not disappointed. I recommend that you ask the hotel to explain you the route to the Waterfront via the Rugby Museum Stairs as this is a much safer and quicker route to walk.

The rooms are clean, spacious enough for the price you pay but without any frills. The breakfast has reasonable variety, even for vegetarians. WiFi up to a limited extent is available for free and you can purchase a premium plan if you require more. The hotel staff are helpful and were responsive when we had an issue with our air conditioner.

Bland reception and limited dining options. The check in process was impersonal and cold. No attempt to even arrange an Halaal friendly meal option despite being in a Muslim majority city. Rooms are what I would expect from a 4 star hotel, but not much of a wow factor. Elevators are inefficient with long wait times. Not actually looking forward to dinner or breakfast.

We arrived and were shown to a room which had other peoples bags in so had to back to reception but weren't really given an explanation as to how that happened-bit concerning for our own room. The room was ok but the shower lacked pressure and didn't really make it over the shelf in the shower cubicle. The air con was louder than a jet engine so we couldn't have it on when we slept and the large number of seagulls on the adjacent building meant we couldn't have the balcony door open - very loud! The breakfast was good and generally the staff were good too.

Charming hotel situated near the V&A waterfront. Spacious balconies, modern rooms, and an excellent bar/restaurant made this a lovely stay. My only small complaint is that the bathtub showers have a high ledge which makes them tough to get in and out of. The shower head is also fairly low making it pretty tricky for anyone north of 5'10" to shower comfortably.
