Located on the outskirts of the beautiful Stellenbosch, Spier Wine Farm is a magnificent day out for the entire family. Boasting a sprawling wine farm one can expect delicious meals and desserts from the restaurant to go with the ample options of wine tasting. A bird sanctuary provides an amazing an educational activity for children and adults alike to interact with birds of pray as well as to watch a live bird show with a trained falcon handler.

Very spacious room, staff were helpful. Spacing of the rooms make you feel like you are not on top of each other.

The hotel restaurant could be staffed with more waiters. Often had to wait to be helped for breakfast.

    Wonderful experience overall.

I was here for a 3 days conference, it does not look like the usual conference venue, but it is indeed a great venue with all the facilities and amenities. Much laid back. I also ate in the Eight restaurant, very romantic, especially at night. There is a complimentary breakfast, really good breakfast and free wifi. You also get the farm experience. It is just off the road R310 from Cape Town so it is hard to miss it. Recommended.

Beautiful property and modern ambience. Great wine tasting experience. The room is roomy and nice with fireplace. The facility is well maintained but it is relatively more expensive comparing to other wineries. The wine farm is not open for tourists or hotel guests. The breakfast is good, so as the dinner with garden sitting. The wine tasting area is also nice with garden view.

Brilliant staff: friendly, professional and always willing to help. Comfortable room (river view) and a decent size with fireplace, tv, iron etc all provided. Breakfast so-so but you’ll find enough to be content. What makes this hotel stand out is its grounds - it’s set in a beautiful part the country. Highly recommended to take the 10k cycle route through the vineyards and along the river.

We did the 40 minute Segway route, chocolate and wine tasting and then afterwards picnic under the trees. The Segway guides were great, very professional, funny and accommodating. The training was about 20 minutes, and we went out to on the farm going through some vines and bumpy dirt roads, lots of fun.
After the Segway tour did a chocolate and wine tasting, staff was friendly and good explanation of there wines. The picnic was a perfect closing to the day. Good quality food, fresh and tasty.
Wine prices are a bit high.
Spier grounds and buildings are very clean, bathrooms clean and hygienic, the staff is very friendly and professional.

It is one of the finest places to go and chill and enjoy wines, it offers good food. You can sit in the restaurant or eat outside while watching beautiful landscapes and listening to birds. It also hosts wedding and all social events.

We went for wine tasting on a public holiday. We couldn't taste as they were too busy which is fully understandable, however the staff was really rude to us. They also couldn't tell us when we could get a table and even where the toilets were on the premises.

Everything you would expect from a wine farm and very enjoyable. Perhaps just a little contemporary for me. I prefer more historical sites.

Large green spaces with Cape Dutch buildings. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great for walking between facilities, free bikes, 5 and 10km runs, all in a safe environment. Fair trade and organic. not to forget the wines. The MCC is great and gets better with the second pop of the cork. Hoghouse beers are good, with good BBQ menu.

My second time staying at Spier and a fantastic time again. Impeccable service, food and incredibly spacious rooms. The staff go the extra mile in every sense and the wine tasting facilities are not to be missed.
