Amazing milkshakes, mouthwatering burgers. A lovely place to go if you'd like to escape from the world for a bit. Also a lovely place to hang out with some friends. Highly recommended

Cannot recommend this place more!

We stayed in Cape Town 6 nights. We ate here 3 times. We would have eaten here 4 times, but they were closed on Sundays.

Between 3 of us, we tried 6 different burgers, as well as a pizza and salad. The burgers were all excellent! Superb attention to detail with the flavours. The pizza was great, as was the salad, but the burgers were the absolute star of the show.

Oh, also their cocktails are fantastic, and well priced, and the shakes were delectable. Order a regular sized shake, and you'll be convinced that they messed up your order and gave you a large (I checked the bill, and still can't believe it).

Go here often.

The widest array of vegan and vegetarian burgers that I have ever come across. Get the soy cheeseburger for a trip down meaty memory lane, or opt for any of the multitudes of burgers that DO NOT try to mimic meat. Fantastic service and intoxicating vibe. Highly recommend.

Every time I’ve been to Royal I’ve really enjoyed the burgers. They’ve got all the classics and some other interesting and weird combinations of their own. They also do really nice cocktails I had a mango and mint slushie drink thing. The waiters are really friendly and the prices are reasonable. I also didn’t have to wait too long for my burger

Was here last year cute atmosphere! Had a nice patio spot upstairs. Their menus are super cute too! Burger was delicious but their fries are different! Wish I had been able to have my usual go-to of crispy sweet potato fries.

An amazing place for any meal in the city, especially burgers and milkshakes! The staff are wonderful and there are so many options for almost any type of diet (including plant-based and vegetarian). The upstairs dining area is tastefully done, and tables up there are usually open to reservations only (so you should definitely make one!). The downstairs dining area is a bit more relaxed, and only accept walk-ins. I will definitely be back!

I had probably one of the BEST Peanut butter & banana milkshake ever here. The place was quite busy so the service was quite slow but very friendly. Interesting menu and nice burgers.

The area can be dodge especially at night with lots of drug dealers and beggars so you must be careful walking alone at night.

Good food, decent vibe. Bit disappointed with the use of plastic straws but overall a good experience.
Be careful of the large milkshakes, they're huge so be prepared.

A great place that caters to omnivores, vegetarians and vegans alike. There is tasty fare here that will appeal to various taste buds.

I find the menu somewhat pricy and it not somewhere that you can visit frequently for a burger as they are just too expensive. Otherwise the service is excellent and the vibe is chilled.

You got to try one of their famous milkshakes!

Nice & funky place, very friendly service and good food. Location is in the middle of the city center in a busy but nice street. Place looks empty but the balcony is large and was full. This is the place that surprises you positively when you are going for a simple dinner.

The best burgers in town. Highly recommend trying a bit of everything on the menu, over various trips. A lovely atmosphere, especially if you get a table upstairs. Vegetarian and vegan-friendly, delicious sweet potato fries and unbelievably good milkshakes. A bit on the expensive side, but no more than any other spot in town.

Huge selection of burgers. Really well priced for a cape Town spot but I really felt the presentation of the food could do with some work.
The burger was however tasty, albeit the patty seemed slight on the small side.
I like the fact that a side order is included with the burger which a lot of other places do not do.

Amazing place to come for burgers and shakes. The menu is INSANE, with so many options and creative burgers. I got the tofu one and it was awesome. Their milkshakes are all yummy. The upstairs terrace is a fun place to sit and look out over Long St.

One of my favourite places to eat in Cape Town. Delicious, heart meals -- I always order veggie burgers (they have a wide selection of veggie options). Good vibe. Great service; they're not rushing to get rid of you. Good drinks selection and yum milkshakes for dessert.
