Have been here many times, often for special occasions. The menu has not changed much in many years, but everything is delicious. Their new premises however lack some of the old world intimacy and atmosphere I used to associate with Pachas.
I decided to surprise my wife with an early valentine’s dinner to beat the rush in town on the 14th. I was greeted by hand, by the manager who addressed me on my first name like I was family – despite the fact that we probably only go here around twice a year.
The service was fast, the music well selected and the food was truly memorable. The portions are also very generous.
We paid R620 (incl. 10% tip) for a glass of wine, a beer, two mains and a shared desert. It isn’t cheap, but I’d rather go here once and remember the occasion than go twice to an average restaurant and remember neither occasions.
Quality fine dining. The food is top quality and expertly prepared. The waiting staff are excellent and on the ball. Would recommend Pachas to anyone look for a fine dining experience that won't break the bank. Not that the menu is inexpensive but genuinely reasonably priced. Good portion sizes. And the desserts, they are amazing! Quality.
Wow, they made our night super special! Can recommend this restaurant for everyone! The food was awesome, the service was great, and the atmosphere also very romantic. The manager is very helpful and kind. Well done to the chefs! Will definitely visit this restaurant very soon again. I think the prices are justified by the quality.
Best restaurant in town. I never hesitate to take friends, colleagues or clients. Consistent, reliable and top-notch service. And the food is simply out of this world! I have been going there for almost 30 years and hope to do so frequently during the next thirty. The private dining rooms upstairs are a brilliant idea with the advocates' rooms just across the street.
While the food was good and the wait staff kind, the managers who took our order were extremely rude. Rude enough to create a rather awkward moment at the table followed by us individually taking about the incident days later. They no longer view each table as any experience for the client. They view it as occupied seats that need to be emptied so they can be refilled. There is no excuse for this as we went on a week day.
Maybe I chose the wrong dish, was not impressed with my Thai-green “hot”, chili, thanks goodness for the 4 prawns that was in the dish, I did not even get a hint of hot or lemon or that fragrant Thai taste or smell was really disappointing, everything else was nice especially the service!
Upmarket restaurant with good food and a large selection on the menu. Very pricey though. Recommend for special occasions.
It's a good place, it's ideal for special occasions quality of the food is great. I was amazed given its geographical location to have such good and fresh fish. Not to loud. It's a place to make take either your snobie supervisor, or to take your side chick. Nobody will recognise you.
Amazing quality food and sizable portions. Slightly pricey, but worth every penny!
Too pricey for me otherwise good food and you don't wait that long
There are few places that inspire and tantalize the sensens such as Pachas does. From an amazing atmosphere enveloping you in a blanket of excellence and making you feel like a diplomat. To food that transports you and you're tastebuds to orgasmic places. Pachas is worth it. Treat yourself.
Upper class restaurant. A little on the pricey side but well worth the money. Impeccable service and friendly staff.
10 year anniversary!! Service was excellent!! Food excellent!! Were treated exceptional and they made us feel very special!! Can't wait to go back!! Thanks for making our night great!!
One of the best upmarket dining venues in Pretoria with an excellent menu and well appointed owner/chefs
One of the best restaurants in South Africa. Owners are very professional and been in the business for decades! Very good service and food second to none.
We waited quite long to be helped. Several of the waiters just walked passed us as if we weren't there. Then they had to "check" if we were allowed to just have coffee eventually they allowed us in and the coffee and desserts were delicious!
One of the best restaurants in Pretoria. Excellent, excellent food, and very good, professional service. Only reason why not five star, is that menu could be more creative, and should - in my opinion - change from time to time.
I recently hosted a private birthday party for 26 guests of variable ages! The venue was superb and the service even better. All the orders for food and drinks arrived timeously ,and without getting any orders mixed up!. Even the kids in the group were well catered for. The quality of the food outstanding from starters right through to dessert. My compliments to management and all the staff involved for making our evening unforgettable!
