    Dear Corne,

First of all, I wish to compliment you on the new place you have found for Nuvo - it is truly exquisite! We visited a couple of weeks ago, and enjoyed everything about it: the ambience, the piano, and, of course, the food.

Your restaurant has been our favourite for some time now - we used to visit the Old Farm road incarnation. We really appreciate the atmosphere you always manage to create, whether it is in a "parking lot" or in a garden of Eden. Nuvo stands out for us as something quite special; we feel that your restaurant offers a level of elegance and beauty not often found in the world today. We admire your passion for your work, and we sincerely hope you receive the recognition you deserve.

I am posting this as a Google review to let the world know :)

    Nuvo Cuisine
As part of Restaurant Week we selected to go to Nuvo Cuisine. Despite being out of the way it is still worth the drive.
The Restaurant Week menu consisted of a selection of 4 starters; 4 main courses and 3 deserts.
As always we were warmly greeted by the waiters, who seated us on the open patio overlooking the lovely garden and freshly painted s and they were very attentive throughout the entire evening.

For starters we selected the Chicken Liver Pate and Cognac Gorgonzola Snails. The Chicken Liver Pate was very light and creamy, a delightful difference to the usually heavy chicken lever pates one gets. The snails, flambéed in cognac, were covered in a rich gorgonzola sauce. The combination of the creamy cheese and earthy cognac formed a perfect balance and leaves one wanting more. Both starters were served with slices of toasted banquette.
For the main course we selected the Lavender & Kumquat Confit of Duck and the Fig & White Balsamic Fillet of Beef. The duck was beautifully served with the lavender & kumquat sauce; a refreshing variation on the classic Duck an l ’Orange you might see on menus.

The Beef fillet was perfectly prepared with an herb and feta crust; and the fig & white balsamic sauce provided the ideal sweet balance to the salty crust of the beef.
Both meals were served with pan fried baby potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables.
For desert we enjoyed a classic Crème Brule and decadent chocolate brownie.
A new addition to the restaurant is the discarding of the traditional wine list but now replaced by a wall of wine of which one can pick and choose among the varieties of wines personally selected by Corne.
The personal attention from owner / chef Corne to all his patrons makes a visit to his establishment a memorable evening every time.

Bad service, sat down and waited for a half an hour for someone to help me. No one did. There was actually a group of people that came into the restaurant and tried to make a booking, but no one assisted them as well.

One person from the group actually approached me and asked if I was the manager, but I told them that was simply also a customer and that no one had assisted me either.

Tried to phone the owner but Corné Grobler could not be reached. As I left the restaurant another group of ladies outside the restaurant actually told me that if I wanted service then I should enter the kitchen and shout for assistance like they did. Absolutely disgusting.

Conclusion: NO service, No help at all, Customers complaining to me (a fellow customer) about the bad service. Pathetically run business. The only reason I can think of that the service was so bad is that there was either a family emergency , or even a death for the lack of service to be justified.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thats probably why they are participating in all the group buying schemes available.

Excellent menu with interesting variety. Presentation of food inviting. Good wine list. Lovely ambiance chef & owner adds to this when "tinkling" the notes on the baby grand piano!!
