Mostly a good experience as this store stocks a wide range of goods. This is my go to for stationary, camping and outdoor goods and sometimes for paint or tools, although Builder's Express is probably the better option.They do stock foodstuffs too, but I am wary of the quality of the perishables so I usually only buy non-perishables. The customer service is terrible so don't expect any help.

Makro is awesome! The best specials on bulk and you can find almost anything at the best prices. The staff though are not very helpful and Will leave you to get lost of your own rather than assist you in a huge store.

Well laid out, was amazed by the innovation of solar panels which is a good initiative. Store is busy but staff is well trained and good leadership is displayed. Long queues but she quick and orderly.

Absolutely terrible. I would have rated them a negative if I had the option. The staff is definitely stuck in pre-1994 era. Not a place I would visit again particularly if you are of African descent. The staff have no shame, they will lie to you outright and selling you defective goods. Getting those goods back to the shop can take very long. They have their own interpretation of the consumer protection act. Avoid

Makro Springfield park is the biggest chain store with almost everything a person may need except hardware/building material. The center has huge parking space for aged , physical challenged person and normal. The space is marked which make it easy to access it. They is enough bathrooms for all, waiting room or space. The store has q guiding maps for sections in store for example butchery, supermarket,appliances, stationeries and clothing section. They are enough cashiers which make it easy for queue to flow to tills and finish shopping in time. Shop not far from N2 North and South bound. Network road improved with top class bridges.

It was an uncomfortable experience when I realized that I needed the loo. I was expecting to be directed to some untidy public toilet outside but to my amazement the store has toilets inside for the customers which are very neat. All round very helpful and friendly staff.. Safe parking And some great deals

The staff seemed to not be too interested in me because the item I was looking for wasn't a high ticket product. I needed some assistance and advice but got short and inaccurate answers and they moved on to the next person wanting something nice and big and pricy. I had no help at all. This branch is nice and I generally enjoy my shop here but that is because I know exactly what it is I am looking for. Brush up on customer service a little, I don't really mind and it won't deter me from shopping here but you may come across someone far less forgiving and could lose potential future business..

My shopping experience was not an easy and simple one as in normal shops. Navigating the store was not easy, this was despite the yellow signage - Finding some items that are normally shelved in the same isle or shelf next each as in other stores proved difficult. My my experience had that bright side that there were many staff members who knew the stores shelving very well. These staff were very helpful.

Large department store housing almost everything. Gets extremely and insanely busy during weekends, sales and month end. Parking is large but gets full very easily. Specials offered are sometimes better than anywhere else but stock does move quite quick.

Another favourite place of mine to shop. Here you get to buy in bulk. All sorts and kinds are found here and reasonable shopping hours 7 days a week. Please safe parking as well.

Great shop but a printer I wanted to buy in the Makro Cape was a different price then that of Makro Springfield.

I bought this issue up and they reduced it no hassle but I would have paid more unknowingly if I did not bring it up.

This is a great Makro. Stocks all you need for reasonable prices, staff I've found to be helpful, and the liquor section is filled with just about any mainstream brand. If you're hungry after shopping then Hunters truck on the premises has amazing burgers and wors rolls

Great place to get anything you could possibly need in your life except a partner well maybe you could meet someone here too. Lots of parking. Great specials on bulk buys. Liquor store is always well stocked. Service could be better considering there are literally only 2 Makro stores in the greater Durban area. The staff do not know how to speak to customers. No etiquette. No manners. Really sad.

Terrible customer service. It took nearly three months from returning a broken TV (manufacturing fault), as well as countless calls and visits, to finally be offered a refund. Not once did we receive a call back from Makro (despite being told we would at least 4 times), and often when we phoned we were transferred between several employees endlessly.

The TV screen was apparently damaged after being dropped off at Makro, which we were quoted to repair despite it not being our fault (the condition of the TV was even recorded when we brought it in). We were quoted just below the full price of the new TV.

If you buy from Makro, be prepared for service like this

Absolutely atrocious customer service and threats to client safety is what no store should humor nor any client! I've never in my time come across such a willingness to ENDANGER PAYING clients with threats of throwing them out of stores without authority nor reason other than some bizarre mental chip on one's shoulder. However the Management (or claimed management herein - these 2 machinating fellows documented in the photos attached) deserve to be removed from this store and the brand of Massmart / Makro without delay. This will be followed up with Head Office and appropriate avenues sort to ensure the safety of clients, like myself is never threatened again. Shocking and beyond shameful of a store of this size!

Makro is a decent place to go for electronics, house appliances, and hardware. While it may be a bit drab on the inside, it's quite spacious for shopping -- given you go when it's not crowded. It also has some pretty good sales that happen seasonally.

Its selection of food is a little limited as it mainly keeps canned foods, frozen items, bottled items, and snacks. No fresh produce can be found here.
